Ha makes a change from more Porcupine Tree fans... (Disclaimer: There is absolutely nothing wrong with Porcupine Tree, or their fans...we just get alot of them in PRRland and variety is the spice of life and all that!)

Haha I'm a big Porcupine Tree fan aswell But yeah, PRR seem really different to anything i've ever really heard, and their change in direction for the second album was quite brave. Most bands would have probably just bottled it and kept doing what they did for the first. And if ya like, get over to Muselive.com, thats where we're from

Muse and Porcupine Tree are awesome, of course.
(And Radiohead is pretty okay, too. ;D)

I'm a Muse and Tool fan. Haha.
EDIT: well, as I have stated before, I've fallen out of love with Muse a bit. I think we kind of diverged from a music taste point of view. Which kind of broke my heart.

I am a prog fan who very much got into the genre with Fish-era Marillion, back in the day.
My favourite band has been Porcupine Tree for many, many years, and I enjoy all of the Steven Wilson projects, but I am also into the likes of The Pineapple Thief, Panic Room, Frost*, Opeth.
Very much enjoying the sound on the latest PRR album, and they have almost instantly become a favourite of mine. Saw them in Reading and Leeds on this tour, and looking forward to the London gig next week.
I am a lawyer by profession, but as an ongoing 'hobby' I now write reviews of all gigs I go to and put them up on my MySpace page, and they are also published by Glasswerk - they put up my review of the Reading gig on their page.

Interesting that you do it as a hobby; I used to review gigs for a website, partially because I thought I wanted to pursue it as a career but in the end, actually found it was spoiling my enjoyment of the gigs because I spent too much time thinking about it in 'reviewer mode' and not actually enjoying it...it's interesting, I'm guessing the same process doesn't happen for you, otherwise you wouldn't do it as a hobby! (And I've read that glasswerk review, really liked your style by the way.)

Thank you - I like compliments ;D
I find it helps me focus on what is going on, and adds to my enjoyment, and as it has continued I have found it makes me notice things I maybe would not have noticed before, in terms of subtle changes within tracks, things going 'wrong', and that makes it a bigger experience for me.

Haha, I understand completely, im genuinely quite scared of the obsessives! Some Radiohead fans get on my nerves too. but this is me just basing my opinion on them from what they say on the internet I just want to clarify, im not one of those people who will go on about how muse are gods and want to do inappropriate things with them, im more into my prog/ math rock nowadays
