Just started rediscovering that awesome band. Thought I'd start a thread for discussions with other people who know about them, or to "convert" you guys The band's latest album, Puzzle, sounds pretty accessible, almost "mainstream" to my standards, but it's still pretty awesome. The older Biffy material is more experimental indie'ish rock. The album The Vertigo Of Bliss would be a great example of that ... Still getting into Infinity Land and Blackened Sky ... www.last.fm/music/Biffy+Clyro

Heard one or two songs by them. Very much in the "not bad, but nothing there that makes me want to investigate further" category for me.

try Glitter And Trauma from the album Infinity Land ... or Eradicate The Doubt from The Vertigo Of Bliss. They should eradicate your doubt Some of their stuff sounds so ordinary compared to Vertigo Of Bliss and Infinity Land material ...

They should eradicate your doubt Ouch.... Aside from that poor pun, I love Biffy, seen them live several times and they're really good, Puzzle is their most accessible album, great driving music, but the others are all good stuff.

Mountains is a really good tune. Great live band n'all as well.
I love all the accusations they've been getting of 'selling out' recently, like Blackened Sky was some avant garde art piece.

I really can't make the difference between Puzzle and Blackened Sky material in terms of sound ... Puzzle might be a bit more catchy, but Blackened Sky is still nothing new like Vertigo Of Bliss or Infinity Land are ...

I'm being slightly unfair really, Puzzles far more polished, but the pop sensibility runs through all their stuff. I think you can hear the quirkyness in Blackened Sky, though more so in its b-sides I guess.
