Super Secret Support looks to be Biffy Clyro doing an acoustic set. /envy And f*** Oceansize is awesome... It's like Pineapple Thief with post-rock, electronica and psychedelic influences... Only Twin is one of my favorite songs ever...

Have to say...saw them a month or so ago and was NOT impressed in the slightest, they've really gone downhill as far as their live performance is concerned, in my opinion.

Where did you see them, out of curiosity?
Playing a set of largely new stuff while playing some of the biggest places they've done was both brave and a bit unwise. When they've done it in the past they've underplayed the gigs and done little out the way venues, it's much better suited. I liked the new tunes but I'm used to hearing them do it, and knew they would be. If you went expecting all the 'hits' I can easily see disappointment.

Rock City, Nottingham.
Yeah I'll admit I've not kept up with the new stuff but I didn't like what I heard...way more hardcore than it used to be, melodies seemed to have disappeared in general! It wouldn't really bother me that they were playing new stuff if I thought they were doing it well. But even the 'hits' in the set didn't sound as good live as they used to, stuff like 'New Pin' sounded a bit scrappy in general. I was just surprised at how much my opinion of them has changed, whether than be my perception that's changed or their performance.

They've not been doing New Pin on this tour.
They picked a rubbish opener (gret tune, but rubbish opener), all sludgy and horrible, but there's a couple of the new ones that might some of themost melodic stuff they've done. There's only one other that's a bit riffy and spikey, and then one that gets loud but not really heavy. I think Rock City was where they had a shortened set 'cos of curfew or something as well?
Prehaps they had an off night, they were pretty on it when I saw them. Not the best I've ever seen them play but certainly not the worst either.
