And it was actually a really good premiere! Looking forward to more gigs and of course an actual album.

Flood were great, totally not what I was expecting. That basically sums it up for me. ;D Not much to add from my side. Given that they already sounded huge (much more so than the main act last night) with unfinished songs and just a few days of rehearsing makes me really look forward to both the studio and future live work. Oh, and if whoever shouted "We love you Chloe!" during one of the last songs would please speak up? And thanks a million for the two tracks, Matt, they sound terrific!

school of seven bells- ghostory Trying to figure out if this record is just ok or really good. Oh, let me know when you figured it out I've seen them live a few days ago and wasn't overwhelmed enough by the new stuff to actually buy the record...

I got this just before New Year. Only had the chance to listen to it twice. The music sounds like it should be really 'big', but its almost as if the production/mixing let them down. It feels almost washed out and dry, and I think the bass was over done... But its definitely grower music, so we'll see. Just listened to it again today. I still like all the songs, production is ok-ish, but could certainly be better. I think they should be doing more stuff like Danger Diamonds — that'd be massive if it's produced right.

/off topic. I don't like paying for intangible music (ie digital) so I might just wait for the CD Same here. Got the CD yesterday and played it today for the first time (just on the bike, so this is certainly not a final review). I couldn't make out any boring/skip tracks. But I still think these guys need to shape their sound a bit more. It's really good, but I can sense that there's much more potential. That being said, the last three tracks ("Gatherer...", "Danger Diamonds" and "//") are f***ing brilliant. Looking forward to seeing them live in January, I hope they're going to spice things up with some nice guitars.

I really like this. Is there anyway to hear a full stream of the album? I didn't find anything. It's on iTunes, tho... itunes.apple.com/album/dead-boy-robotics/id479738298I write for a small local publication, but reviews need to be in before December 16th.. Oh, let me know where that is when you've reviewed it!

Just "discovered" this band after playing with Last.fm's new discover service for the first time. "Dead Boy Robotics, a three piece from Edinburgh, Scotland, incorporate laptop, synths, guitars, tribal drumming, vocal harmonies, yelps and screams to create atmospheric new wave that is both epic and intense." Synths? Guitars? Vocal harmonies? Sounds familiar! Anyway, I did quite like this song and I'll probably check out the debut they've apparently just released a few days ago.
