Just a few shots from the last couple of gigs. Not really in the mood right now for more editing... goo.gl/6zgJD

Actually, I like that idea quite a bit. Though I have to say that doing this without a little practice is most probably going to be a real challenge. I'd much prefer a non-PRR song, I think it just wouldn't fit. I wonder if we would find a bit of time to give this a dry-run, though. "Wouldn't it be nice" sounds like a very good choice. I'll happily observe if you guys go ahead with this...but I'm not going to lie, I'm so not up for singing, personally... Haha, I know what you mean, I don't really fancy singing either. But we've done this once (having a guy on board who could really write fancy lyrics) and it was really making an impression.

It's so refreshing to have a crowd of people who are respectful and don't talk through the gig too, in the quiet bits, you could have heard a pin drop. Thanks for pointing that out, it was such a nice experience indeed that I almost didn't realise it! I've been to so many gigs this year where I was disappointed mainly for the crowd being inattentive and chatting all the time.

Nice vid disintegration, though maybe it should go on the other thread for now (ie it may contain spoilers...) OK, new idea. How about this: We sing to them. After the show, we can get a whole bunch of people together and sing a song - I was thinking maybe the song "wouldn't it be nice" by the beach boys, which we could change the lyrics to so that it's relevant to prr splitting up and how sad that is but also what a great band they've been. We could print off loads of lyrics sheets so everyone knows the words. And maybe someone would be able to bring a guitar to accompany us? Just an idea...don't be too mean about it!

Wrote the above from my phone, thus t'was a bit brief. The second part was (as one could guess from the presence of Twyncyn in the first part already) the US release of TDT. And to be honest, as much as I like (and I'd even say prefer) the new stuff nowadays, The Dark Third played live as a whole is one hell of a magical experience. There's some sort of aura (or whatever you may want to call it) that surrounds all the songs and makes them bigger as a whole than they are on their own. Needless to say that the band did a fantastic job in bringing TDT to the stage, despite the usual minor technical issues (especially Jon suffered from a lack of click) and Jamie hitting a surprisingly large number of false notes (which probably frustrated him much more than the audience). The only real surprises were the order of sets (which I had predicted to be the other way around, but which makes a lot more sense to me in hindsight) and the encore (which btw was In Aurélia — oooh, how I love that thing played live). No Gloaming. No new songs from the post-TDT era. Intriguingly I can count "only" 19 songs, while Jon was tweeting about 20 songs they've been rehearsing. Which makes me think that there'll probably be a chance for a second encore if the audience keeps making enough noise after the first one.

So it seems that the Valour CD will only be sold at gigs... As someone who will never be able to see PRR live, would anyone mind picking one up for me? I will pay for postage + CD cost, of course I'll try to get a copy for you.

In case any Londoners are interested: I'll be driving to the Nottingham and Bristol shows with gilthar and we will have 2 (maybe even 2.5, will depend on the car) seats available. All you'd have to pay for is your part of the fuel/car (let's fix it at 15 quid). Just give me a shout if you want to join in.
(And if anyone is crazy enough to join us on the London-Norwich-Holmfirth-Glasgow farewell trip — hopefully with a little excursion to Lake District on Monday — we'll have one seat available for that, too. Note, though, that this is one-way only.)

No Deus, MHX? Brave man, would've thought that Deus in particular would be down on every last AVO/H&A set wishlist out there! I don't know, I found this one surprisingly easy to drop, even knowing how amazing it is live. But given that it's been part of every (even the shortest) gig I've seen so far, it was kind of an obvious choice for me. (EDIT: I know I'm going to regret this at some point!) Another hat in the ring for Never Divide though: I like your style! #catchychorusesforthewin Heh, indeed! Never Divide has totally grown on me over the past year and I can imagine it'd gain a lot from being spiced up with some extra live guitars and Paul's drumming. Before your edit, I was totally surprised to see only setlists missing Tempest... tssss!

Cupid?! When you've only got a few non-TDT slots to play with? Sometimes, TDF, I do not get you at all... ;D Hahaha, I tend to agree Never Divide Les Malheurs Fight Fire Gloaming Blitzkrieg Open Insurrection Armistice -- Tempest AVO I've wanted Blitzkrieg/OI/Armistice played like this from the very beginning, so there we go!
