Er yeah, so I've logged into this place for the first time in literally years to see whether anyone else was talking about Bullet Height now the full debut album has finally dropped. It's really good, innit? Anyway, see ya round if anyone ever visits these long-deserted boards again.

Just checking in to say hello. TDF, I'm disappointed in you - heard all of that while mhx and I were both still in the venue. Goddamnit man, I expected a full Stasi interrogation for even MORE details, thumbscrews and all. You want to check your secret police badge in at the door on your way out, junior: that's some weak-ass information gathering.

Awesome, great work gents, and cheers to Matt for uploading some great video footage. Totally not what I would have expected either; I was absolutely convinced that Chloƫ would be going down the electro route. Glad you guys had a great evening, and look forward to catching FLOOD myself at some point in the future.

It's more that I live in Befordshire but work in Northamptonshire, if Flood are on at 7 then there's even less chance of me making it, would never be able to get into London for then on a weeknight!

That's my own tagging - I don't like having various singles etc all over the place on my iPod (otherwise every band in your library has about 50 'albums' to choose from), so I shove singles, b-sides and little oddities like this into a generic "B-Side" album for each band in my library, you're not missing anything that's not comercially out there already.

Would love to go, but a Tuesday night gig in London is a bridge too far for me with the times I have to get up for work the next morning. Very jealous of anyone who does get to go, it will be so exciting to see what Chloe's been up to in recent months!

Hi oneamong, Don't think this was ever commercially released so I can't see it would be ripping the band off to re-upload. I've had a go at uploading it here, hope you enjoy! www.sendspace.com/file/14gu51

Hi everyone, long time no speak. Anyway, some actual news! For anyone with Facebook, Chloƫ has set up a new Band/Artist page called "Flood" and says there will be an announcement/update in the next 24 hours. Can't work out how to link the Facebook page directly, but you're all clever sausages, I'm sure you'll be able to find it for yourselves. Will update this thread with whatever the announcement turns out to be in any case: really excited about this!

Did I hear Jamie tell someone he planned to do something with Tim from A Genuine Freakshow? Yeah, that's something I heard too, though I don't know how far along that is at this stage! I heard that Tim, Simon and Jack from AGF may all be involved with Jamie doing something together in the future. Given that PRR are no more, this is obviously pretty much the next best news I could possibly have heard to cheer me up at the final gig - that would be a supergroup indeed! (Albeit no bassist?) Really, REALLY hope there's something in this. As an aside, and for what it's worth, I think Jack AGF is possibly my favourite drummer that I've ever seen play. I'm no musician so I can't tell you whether he's a genius from a technical standpoint or not, but I've certainly thought "Wow, these drums are fucking amazing!" during some of Jack's playing more than any other drummer I've seen. And I like 65daysofstatic and The Mars Volta, who both have some crazy drumming going on on their records. Top lad. I like what AGF have going on, but can't quite get into it. Something along those lines with "bigger riffs" (which Jamie seems to enjoy) could be interesting. I get what you're saying, despite clearly clicking with AGF more than you have. I think they're at their best when they're in their post-rock mode rather than some of their more ambient moments. Take a look at the live versions of Luckmore Drive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDwLZIOCL_A) and She's Got A Shooter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRRgHP6j4j8) to see them at their more muscular best. So yeah, if a project had Tim, Simon, Jack and Jamie involved it might be a bit more riff-tastic than AGF's standard sound, and I agree that that could be a really exciting prospect.

It's funny actually, now I've finally had a bit of downtime and some sleep, it's the video footage I'm finding the hardest! I've been listening to nothing but PRR all week and that's been fine but watching some of the old tour videos and performances on YouTube this morning definitely got me down a little...probably a bit too soon! There are just so many memories from all the different shows... You're right though, we're lucky to have such a selection of DVDs and I'm so glad Scala was made (if only I could find my copy...I think it's at my dad's house, I hope!) I hate to sound like a broken record though but it's a such a shame Heaven wasn't filmed, given the absolutely storming performance and amazing visuals that night, I've never seen the band look better on stage! Woah, make sure you find that Scala DVD pronto - that is one bad boy you do NOT want to lose, and if it is missing then you wanna head over to the online shop while they still have some copies left! Agreed that the Heaven show would've made for a truly special live DVD: all those TDT performances that were only seen 6 times by anyone would've made a DVD worth its weight in platinum alone. If only...

Ok, so now the dust is starting to settle after the band's final performance at Heaven earlier this week, I'm finally starting to feel the impact of the realisation that PRR have finished. For some reason I'm finding the fact that there won't be any more live shows as Pure Reason Revolution harder to take than the fact that there won't be any more PRR music releases. This is probably due to a combination of the knowledge that the band members will be working on their own music in the future and that I'll always be able to go back and listen to my PRR records at any point I choose. Contrast that with the live shows and it's hard to imagine I'll discover many (if any!) new bands who are able to truly recreate the great times I had at Pure Reason gigs over the years.
So in retrospect, I'm really glad that we've been left a relatively impressive live DVD legacy for a band of PRR's size. The only other band who I have felt a similar sense of community and a 'something more than the sum of a show's parts'-atmosphere at their gigs was Hope Of The States, who departed the scene leaving tonnes of happy memories in the minds of their audience, but very little tangible evidence to preserve the memories as the years advance. Like a set of holiday photos that help you to remember that one amazing holiday you went on, live gig videos are for me the best way to hold on to the fantastic memories I've had of following PRR on the road, and I'm really glad we've got as much as we have left to us given the size of PRR's audience and the backing (or lack of it!) they had from their labels.
There's a bit of a lack of TDT-era material sitting in the vaults (cheers Sony!), but I make it that we have the following pro-quality (I use the term to varying degrees from DVD to DVD) footage of PRR playing live:
- Amor Vincit Omnia bonus DVD, containing a handful of AVO songs from the NearFest 2007 show and the next item below: - The Rockpalast televised performance in Bonn at the end of 2008, containing a mixture of TDT and AVO material (not officially released in full, but torrents existed for the whole show at the time). - The ItaliaWave/Heitere festivals DVD, containing a mixture of AVO and TDT songs performed during 2009. - The Hammer And Anvil bonus DVD, containing a mixture of H&A and AVO songs performed at the Hoxton show in 2010. - The Scala DVD, containing a mixture of all 3 albums' songs performed at the end of 2010.
Overall I'd say that's a pretty strong showing from a band who didn't have a sizeable label budget behind them. I'm especially fond of the Scala DVD (ironically, one of the only London shows I never made it to!) because I think it's a really well-produced piece of work and shows the band playing on excellent form - the performances of Blitzkrieg and AVO in particular are the best I've ever seen those songs played.
Haven't really got another point to make other than that I'm really glad that I'll have these tangible reminders to help me bring back the sense of a PRR live show in the future, as direct recall of those times inevitably fades. I hope you guys find the material that does exist as much of a comfort as I do, and although it's no subsitute for the real thing, I can say from personal experience that the existence of good live footage is a real boon when you've lost a band who means the world to you.
(Albeit none of that stops me wishing that there was some good live footage of Apprentice and Nimos - my first two PRR loves - out there. I miss them!)

Fantastic photos of a brilliant night. I've got a big, cheesy grin spread right across my face looking at those pictures, and the memory of the night will always be something I will be able to look back at and smile. Great stuff.
