Ok everyone, by popular demand (well, to stop me and nekroman taking over the rest of the board with yakking about Juande Ramos' blue and white army!), here is a thread to discuss all things football. Feel free to chip in on any subject about any team: from [apparently] Jon's beloved Royals to Jamie's [dirty thieving Scouse tap-up merchants - ha ha, no bitter Spurs fans here!] Liverpool; from the European giants of AC Milan and Real Madrid to the Sunday League pub sides A3 Milan and Real Ale Madrid... To get things going, my football background is that - as is probably well known by now - I'm a Tottenham fan. Entirely due to my dad, who's from London and was a Spurs fan since boyhood. Only thing is, he grew up in Battersea (which means he should've been a Chelsea fan if he'd picked his closest team), but he supported Tottenham because at the time they had the best team in the country with the likes of Greaves and Blanchflower etc, so because he was a glory hunter when he was young, I have had to suffer many years of heartache and failure when I could've been watching Chelsea win League titles and FA Cups galore - damnit! My second team is Luton Town (who are just a ****ing mess at the moment) because I live near Luton and my mum is a lifelong fan and season ticket holder there. Also have a soft spot for Oxford United because I used to go watch them from time to time while I was at uni. The teams I dislike most (in order) are: Arsenal (obviously), Watford (due to Luton support), Chelsea, West Ham and Swindon (due to Oxford support). I only really hate Arsenal and Watford though, the others I don't get too worked up over. There's loads more I could go on about in this thread, but I'll save it for another day I think! But feel free to drop in here with anything you have to say about any aspect of the Beautiful Game... ;D

I love spurs - have done since I was a boy. it's a rollercoaster but I wouldn't have it any other way. you cut me, i bleed lilywhite. I go to as many games as possible, and take my seat in the ever so awesome Park Lane end.
my 'other' teams: Ajax, Barcelona, Celtic
teams I dislike most: Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle, Sunderland, Real Madrid.

Can't be doing with Celtic: boo! Rangers all the way! (This is all because my best mate at uni was from Belfast and was a proper Proddy boy: his motto was "the future's bright, the future's orange"... )

D'oh! Oh well, it would've just been like watching Tottenham vs Tottenham Reserves anyway! Now that Keane looks to be on his way (probably with Berba not far behind), just watch some Norwich player - probably Doherty, knowing Irony's cruel humour - absolutely crop both Bent and GDS later on tonight, it's nailed on to happen...

call me a tad simple, but I think Berba will stay. watching Keane leave is heartbreaking though. it's a killer.
I reckon Gio will have a good game though, hopefully.
canaries better have some good support, if they don't, who knows what Delia will do?

I dunno, I think Berba's as good as gone myself, just can't see how his position would be tenable after Levy's statement that he'd both asked to leave and was a negative presence in the squad. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing I'd like better than to see a happy and willing Berba in our colours next season - well, aside from maybe 38 Premiership games out of Ledley! - but I just think Levy's statement was the turning point where it became a "no way back" scenario. Would love to be proven wrong though.
Very much looking forward to seeing my first glimpse of GDS tonight, and also hoping and praying that Gomes will look the upgrade to Robbo that we've been crying out for for more than 18 months now.

If I wasn't so down because my Swedish fave team Djurgården is havin the most horrible season for ages, I would give you a bit of a tongue-lashing here, son Now I just curl up in a dark corner and wait for the Olympics to start. No footie (except for the olympic) will be allowed near my tender ears for weeks if I have anything to say. Well, no footie mentioning Djurgården anyway. *Sulks*

Hi Agrajag, and welcome to the forums! (to be honest, I could've posted this in any one of a handful of threads you've already debuted in, but this is the first one I've walked in to! ) You'll notice that this thread has been pretty dormant for a long time, due to myself and fellow Yid nekroman having very little to get excited about and discuss in Spurs' bleak season so far! I guess that being a Canary, you'll have experienced the same kind of emotions this season! / Always had a soft spot for your boys though, mainly because I hated Andy Marshall for 'doing a Sol' and that kinda put my sympathies on the yellow side of the East Anglian rivalry by default! Plus there's been some overlap of players in recent-ish seasons: Ginger Pele, Paul McVeigh, David Bentley, and maybe others that escape my memory at the moment. So yeah, hoping things pick up for you in the league! ;D

Shame we couldn't sign Lita on a permanent transfer though, we're desperately short of a striker at the moment.
