Just in case anybody isn't on Myspace, or on PRR's friends list for that matter, here is the bulletin sent out on Thursday about the new single:
The time should be upon us all for the unveiling of Victorious Cupid...but in true PRR fashion we're late!! We're still in the studio mixing the beast, its taken a little longer than we would have hoped but at least its on the way!! The song will be free to download from The PRR Website and The PRR myspace this coming Tues at Midday.
Sorry about the delay but it's well worth the wait!
Jamie xx
I can't wait to hear it, it sounded great in the live sets and I've had it stuck in my head ever since!

And another bulletin just now (also on their main page):
...Victorious Cupid....
Limited edition, download only single Avaliable 27/03/07 12.00 GMT
Along with links to their websites. And cover art, but I'm just seeing a broken image at the moment ...

I meant to say, I've also had it stuck in my head. It sounded better and better each of the three times I saw them live recently, with the sound mix in London helping a great deal as well

Yep - agree, it sounded great at The Barfly; at the Blackfield show in Feb it suffered a little from a rougher mix. Like the song though; nice and riffy.

Yay! After first listen- it sounds incredible, better than it did live, I like the mixing on it... Ooooh, I'm all excitable now! I want another album!

Sounds great but where's the download? Quality of streaming from MySpace is worse than crap!

I'm guessing it'll follow on...they were a teeny bit late putting the track up so I guess they just wanted to get it up on myspace, probably the most popular instant way to listen, hopefully a proper download will follow.

Yeah, it's up there now and boy does it rock a phat one!
It's whetted the appetite for a new album now - rumoured to be October though so a while to wait.

I think I may have done permanent damage now, putting it through my dad's bose sound system at full volume, my ears are ringing in my own house! Had to be done!
Sadly, if the album's SAID to be October...yeah, we know what they're like with their (successful, but lengthy) faffing about in the studio!

There is now a link on their page to a higher quality version in a zip file, in their 'about Pure Reason Revolution' section.

i might be being stupid (even though I work with computers for a living!) but where can I download this? It only streams from their myspace page and their main website is harder to navigate than swimming through custard! Can anyone help?

I only got the Mastered.
Sounding good. Not REALLY sure yet. In that it's short and riffy, quite like sound of free. You can hear the keyboards are gone abit too I think... Cool stuff though. Slowly restoring faith...

I've got both...but my version of the non-mastered is in REALLY bad quality as I just literally recorded it off the myspace as soon as it came out, being the impatient girl that I am! To be fair, there's a reason they master it, the mastered copy does sound, as Jon said 'bigger.'
I wasn't sure when I first heard it live at the various tourdates I went to but it grew on me very quickly,I've had it on repeat on and off all day! You're also right about the keyboards being mostly gone...but personally I really like the rockier stuff so I'm pretty chuffed with it...plus, I'd much rather that than they continue to write material that is going to need tonnes of backing track when they play live, the less the better.
