Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys, but here's a message from PRR. -----------------------------------
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to cancel our appearance at The Junction in Cambridge this weekend. This wasn’t a decision we took lightly, and we’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused.
The Show is still happening, so we definitely recommend you go along and check out the Boxer Rebellion.
The London and Sheffield Shows will still be going ahead as planned.
See you soon PRR

Pah, fiddlesticks! Not sure if I'll bother going along to see The Boxer Rebellion now, even though I've already got the ticket. Tickets were pretty cheapish so I'm not too bothered about that, but Cambridge is a slightly arse-y drive for me, and if there's going to be no PRR goodness at the other end then I'm not sure it's worth the effort for me. Will prob make a decision on the Friday night, depends how I feel at the time. Luckily it's ended up not being a huge inconvenience to me, but hope anyone else here who's already got their ticket for that gig hasn't been too put out.

It's a real shame, I know that was probably the one most people on here were planning to go to. I promise I'll try not to be smug about the fact that the North triumphs...

Ffs.
I'm not going to bother going, then. I was only going to see PRR. Still may go to Cambridge though.

I'd assume if the reason was something to made public, it would have been.

Yeah suppose so, just wondering because the Junction haven't said anything. I might just go for TBR.

I'd be willing to bet it was a last minute decision. The Junction will probably update later.

Well - The Junction didn't update their site or publicity, and didn't email people who'd booked tickets; in fact, since I didn't know about this particular website beforehand, the first I knew of it was when the "wrong" band turned up on stage.
I can also confirm that The Boxer Rebellion are marginally blander than Snow Patrol, and Yo Yo Yo Litvinenko are third-rate neo-punk, there's no two ways about it.

Venues aren't obliged to do anything when the support act is changed as far as I'm aware.
If I could be arsed I'd argue quite strongly that Boxer Rebellion are very little like Snow Patrol. They both use guitars, I'll give you that.

Hi Shadowphiar, welcome to the forums. Sorry you didn't seem to enjoy the gig that much, think a number of people on these forums gave it a miss purely because PRR had to cancel, so can understand your disappointment. Not sure about The Junction (and what Ryan says about them not needing to notify ticket holders about changes in support bands seems to make sense), but PRR did put out notices on their Myspace and Facebook pages as soon as the news about them having to cancel came out, so I think they did everything they could. Still, sucks that you weren't aware of the change until the gig itself, hope it wasn't a completely wasted trip for you.

Well I still went and thought it was brilliant. Apart from all the pre-teen girls just going as an excuse to get drunk I thought it was good, and really enjoyed the TBR's set.

"Marginally blander" doesn not necessarily mean that they're similar. I agree with shadowphiar's assessment.
