Autumn in the UK. That's usually taken to be September, October and November over here.

I think we're looking at October...hopefully, anyway!

By October, do you mean the same as they meant by October 08 for album 2?
I'm banking on March.

The Scissor sisters today release their comeback single which is called, er, "Fire With Fire". Awkward. And don't ask me how I know this.

Scissor Sisters are (or were, i've not heard anything past the first album) awesome. Me and the missus saw them live after that first album and it was incredible.

So can anybody who was at the show shed some light on the lyrics from the new songs? Jamie said on his Formspring that the new album has a theme, and I'm curious what it might be. New tunes are cracking, by the way. SO PUMPED.

Pretty sure the theme is world war one and world war two. Jon's grandfather was some kind of soldier/officer in one of those and he got his medals etc and got interested by that...I couldn't make out the lyrics but they're always fairly unspecific

Fight Fire With Fire is the first PRR song that I've ever heard where I've been able to make out all of the lyrics at first hearing. I can't be bothered to transcribe (unless anyone is particularly bothered and having trouble themselves - would be a surprise), but the lyrics are very clear on the Youtube video by the chap who did the Black Morning and Chimeras uploads posted in the Hoxton gig thread (i.e. not the Fight Fire With Fire link posted in that thread, that was filmed by someone else).
By my reckoning Fire is the first overtly political song that PRR have ever written. Interesting times.

I absolutely love Chimeras (?). Here's what I've got on the lyrics from the sampler. Just an approximation, but I think I got some of them right. Seems to me like either a criticism of religion or part of a story that involves a corrupt religious figure.
Gone is the sapphire and roll me with ashes decreed for the kingdom of lights you confess with a headlight the cruel and diseased as you climb to the edge of your rulers are folding your lies burn away preacher blown waves and cast me in circles and pieces that fall for the plan will of pure truth
For I am a vulture scathed by the words that have been flown and swing that a knife turn the flesh and the headlines a cruel father seas in decline on the edge now the rulers are folding their lies fight away wind blown with a cast will in circle at peace with the Lord, fire, hell, turn away away.
There were no dead when you left, ashes a warning for valor (?) (Something) I am so scared (something).

Yep, I'm happy to go with you on those lyrics, flyingswordfish (I can't make out the last part either) - though vulture sounds like virtue, to me.

Hi all, no Internet connection at home and I'm on my phone doing this so I'll be brief, but saw Jamie last night at a Vessels gig in Reading last night. (Btw, Vessels were decent but lacked a spark. A Genuine Freakshow, who I was there for, were excellent in the main support slot and Talons were the best 3rd billed band I have ever seen: check them out, they were better than Vessels!)
Anyway, Jamie was pretty coy about preparations for the new album, but he did tell me that it will definitely have 10 tracks. Wasn't giving much else away but he said that they were looking at maybe doing a small warm-up tour before the album comes out and then a proper headline tour in November/December once the album has been released. He said that's all still up in the air though and there aren't any firm details yet. :-( On a more frivolous note, I can add that Mr W attended last night's gig with a very short shaved head, probably a #1 cut all over. He's still sporting the close-shaved beard though so he said we can all expect various Hulk Hogan moustaches etc to appear in the coming weeks and months, haha! Maybe the end of the Willcox beanie hat as we know it...
