I like the Man of Aran soundtrack, not fussed about the other albums. I saw them live recently and found one song enjoyable and the rest boring.

Really looking forward to this now...it'll be my 30th PRR gig. Scary.
Not looking forward to trying to get back home to Ealing after last tube, mind you. Looks like I might have to stick Club NME out til the bitter end in order to hold out for a 3:30am train...I hate to think how much alcohol I'm going to need in order to endure it.

Damnit, hadn't thought about the last tube being gone. Looked on the TFL site and apparently the last ones from Mornington Crescent and Camden Town go around 00.15-00.30ish, which will be maybe 15-30 mins too early for people who need to dash off: d'oh!
I've got to get back to St Pancras after the show and Google Maps has it down as a 15 minute walk so I'll probably do that. Depending on how lazy I feel on the day, it might be a cab job at the end of the night!

Last I checked, Koko Club NME info says headliner are usually on about 12:30, so they won't be done until 1am. Just thought I'd better let anyone trying to form travel plans know.
However, Camden to St P should be OK Lawrie, I'm sure there are buses- a HELL of a lot easier than my trek home!

So the KOKO gig was pretty awesome last night. The band delivered on their pledge to have a more colossal sound than Justice. The set was short but sweet.
Les Malheurs Black Mourning Valour Deus Ex Machina Fight Fire AVO
For some reason, Jon didn't have his synthesiser, just his yamaha keyboard, and I think they had a lot more stuff on the backing track than usual, which was a bit of a shame but it probably allowed them to have a fuller sound.
Black Mourning and the AVO tracks all sounded great, but for me Valour was even better this time, especially the end, where there's such an awesome drop which sounded indescribably brilliant. However, it was Fight Fire that totally stole the show last night. I've never seen PRR rock out so hard. Chloe was on absolute fire (excuse the pun): she suddenly became a proper front (wo)man, and showed some charisma and showmanship I've never seen before. They put all her instrumental parts on the backing track, so she was just singing, and early on she ditched the mic stand and just howled into the mic while pulsing round the stage. Plus Jamie did a cool jump off the drum stand (not as good as the one at Hoxton but still acceptable)...
Anyways, I've never seen them play a song as well as they played Fight Fire last night, they really seemed like a new and totally awesome band. Shame the set was so short! At least I got my dream of having a PRR gig with no TDT in it - I really think the old stuff, great as it is, lets down their modern electro-awesomeness when played live. In the studio TDT might remain their best album but on the stage, it's so much better when it's cut!

Ugh, so I've just woken up. Great gig, worst journey home in my gigging history. Cancelled trains and replacement bus services saw me get home at 5.30am. Not cool.
Loved the show though (at my favorite venue in the world), and as always great to see some forum faces on the night; a pleasure once again ladies and gents.

Absolutely awesome show, as others have said, short but sweet. I'm with thedarkfourth, was quite pleased to see they'd gone all AVO/H&A for this show as it worked amazingly well as a set. I am also now in love with Fight Fire, after a shaky start when I heard it at Hoxton, I now think it's my favourite of the three tracks up on YouTube.
Koko is such a beautiful venue and there was a big crowd, hopefully including a few new PRR converts. Great to see everyone as always...bring on Scala! (Sorry Lawrie...)

Hey, just curious - was there any new merchandise around? I've always wanted a cool PRR shirt and am wondering if this tour/album cycle will finally yield that for me.

I didn't see any merch stand or anything, but I did notice a dude with a shirt with the new logo on it (the weird downwards arrow saying PRR). It looked pretty cool and well-made enough that I think he hadn't done it himself unless he's very good at making T-Shirts. No idea where else he would have got it though.

There were a couple of people in new shirts at Southsea, Jamie said they'd got them at Koko.

Gaaa, that dude was probably me Too bad we didn't meet (completely my fault, I seriously messed up at least twice: first because I only thought of trying to meet with you folks after not having internet anymore; second because I was so tired after driving down to London all day that I forgot to ask Jamie if he knew where you were...) As for the shirt (white outline & yellow PRR on a black shirt, if that's what you saw), it was self made. I only got it shortly before leaving to the UK. Call me a nerd, but I wrote the code for the print on that shirt in good old PostScript If anyone is interested, I can post a PDF/SVG/PNG as soon as I'm back in Germany. Really hope I can meet with some of you next time!

To be honest I should have gone and said hi to you myself, but I think I was looking for someone else at the time, sorry! Next time we should arrange a meet up with whoever's interested ahead of time.
Btw, I hope you didn't come from Germany just for the gig - if so, massive kudos for commitment! Though it's not as impressive as the girl who came from Mexico...

Next time we should arrange a meet up with whoever's interested ahead of time. Yeah, I should have done that, but I was too busy the last couple of weeks. I've got a ticket for the Scala gig and really hope to make it Btw, I hope you didn't come from Germany just for the gig - if so, massive kudos for commitment! Though it's not as impressive as the girl who came from Mexico... That was really impressive, indeed! In my case, it was actually the two PRR gigs last weekend that started this off, but a friend from Edinburgh added two gigs in Glasgow around them. Anyway, the Koko show alone, despite too short, was already well worth spending most of the weekend on the road.
