Hi guys,
If you could put any comments/setlists etc (or anything else that could be considered a 'spoiler') about the farewell tour in this thread, it'd be greatly appreciated, so those who want to discuss the gigs before they go can use the old 'Farewell Tour' thread without ruining the surprise.
Thanks, Admin

Wrote the above from my phone, thus t'was a bit brief. The second part was (as one could guess from the presence of Twyncyn in the first part already) the US release of TDT. And to be honest, as much as I like (and I'd even say prefer) the new stuff nowadays, The Dark Third played live as a whole is one hell of a magical experience. There's some sort of aura (or whatever you may want to call it) that surrounds all the songs and makes them bigger as a whole than they are on their own. Needless to say that the band did a fantastic job in bringing TDT to the stage, despite the usual minor technical issues (especially Jon suffered from a lack of click) and Jamie hitting a surprisingly large number of false notes (which probably frustrated him much more than the audience). The only real surprises were the order of sets (which I had predicted to be the other way around, but which makes a lot more sense to me in hindsight) and the encore (which btw was In Aurélia — oooh, how I love that thing played live). No Gloaming. No new songs from the post-TDT era. Intriguingly I can count "only" 19 songs, while Jon was tweeting about 20 songs they've been rehearsing. Which makes me think that there'll probably be a chance for a second encore if the audience keeps making enough noise after the first one.

as mhx wrote tdt is magical while played in its full. Really enjoyed the gig. And same did the band as it look. I've never seen Chloe smiling that much on stage, and that is charming as you all know. Finally i heard nimos and for that i've been waiting a while! To my surprise my feelings after the show were rather happy than sad probably because 5 more shows to go but i realised that there will be loads of tears from my side at london show.
p.s. Valour ep is beautiful!

so yesterday's setlist was a bit reverse. TDT came first and then the rest. There was slight change in the second part so that the Twyncyn was moved to the encores and was played after In Aurelia. Loads of fun, for example Jamie throwing cheese from stage.

Yeah I was at Bristol and I'll just say that they were as good if not better than I've ever seen them. Unfortunately due to a ridiculously early start time I accidentally missed the start of the set and only arrived during Bright Ambassadors! Still, the second half of TDT was AMAZING. It really brought home what great tracks voices in winter and bullitts are - they both sounded huge and beautiful, Arrival/IC was also great...I kind of felt He tried to show them magic needed a bit more practice but was still cool. The second half was also superb, though I would have much rather they had played open insurrection or a couple more from AVO rather than Twyncyn/Aurelia, which were fine but not as good as the main set imo.
Overall, it was so good that I'm seriously considering going all the way to Holmfirth or whatever godforesaken place they're going on sunday... plus obvs london!!

Excellent, I think maybe Ambassador Return needed a different vocal/instrument balance? Will someone please please please try and tape London?

So, of course, I was representing the Norwich gig. Having been up on the Saturday at 6am due to work, I was feeling pretty knackered by the time it came to the gig, but boy oh boy did they perk me up...!
Second part of the set list in Norwich was a little different to what MHX posted, we had:
Blitzkrieg/Disconnect elements thrown in (which worried me when I thought they were going to break out into full song...) Black Mourning Malheurs Valour Deus LMLR Fight Fire AVO
Encore: In Aurelia Twycyn.
No Golden Disco. *sob*
A friend of mine brought an audio recorder to the gig which I kept held on me all night, I've only heard Malheurs from it so far, but it's a really, really clean audio! So if no videos are made, I may be able to share it musically with you.

Nice jemi, I'd love to hear that! I'll just report briefly about what some of us have been up to. I ended up going to Norwich and then got dragged into coming to Holmfirth by mhx, guiltar and others, who were extremely kind in giving me a lift/floor space and are also as fun/geeky a bunch of fans as you could ever hope to hang out with!! Both gigs were epic. Norwich was in a church, and Holmfirth in this massive town hall which they did well to get as full as they did. It was also Jamie's birthday, so we filled the stage with balloons and party-popper confetti. Also there's all these plastic wwii soldiers everywhere that paul bought to prank jon at norwich. And bits of fruit for some reason. Jamie was drunker than I've ever seen him on stage and he missed about half his notes, but the music was still spectacular. Did I mention that I think my favourite non-TDT songs have been LMLR and Fight Fire? They're just sounding so huge. There was also a great light show at holmfirth, I don't know if that was Sarah or if it was some in-house lighting guy, but the timing was spot on. I regretfully won't make it to glasgow but I can't wait to see everyone at the grand finale on Wednesday. This tour has been a ridiculous amount of fun, and I think the band have really enjoyed it too, which is really nice. It makes things less sad.

Ahhh I wish I'd have known you were going to the Norwich gig! It'd have been nice to meet somebody from the boards (I don't think standing next to Lawrie and blondeambassador counts as meeting them?!)! I had wondered what the WII soldiers was about.. I was on Jon's side of the stage so I nicked one afterwards. I swear I saw a farmyard pig too...?
I wish I could afford to go to the London gig! I bet it's going to be a spectacular night!

Ahhh I wish I'd have known you were going to the Norwich gig! Sorry - not even I knew I was going to the Norwich gig until the night before, when I found out that the thing I thought I was going to that night was actually in the afternoon! And if I hadn't gone to it then I would never have gone to holmfirth, so the prr gods were smiling on me! I swear I saw a farmyard pig too...? That would be the strange little plastic leopard/cheeta that gilthar found in the flat we were staying in. Naturally when the soldiers came out they had to be given something to fight!

Just a quick one as I realise I haven't posted but I was in Holmfirth...wow, what an awesome set and what an awesome evening all round. As others have already said, the band are in great spirits and are clearly determined to go out on a high, and it shows, they are full of energy on stage and even if Jamie was a little 'excitable' as it was his birthday, it was one of the most good-natured gigs I've ever been to and it cheered me right up- just what I needed! It's so refreshing to have a crowd of people who are respectful and don't talk through the gig too, in the quiet bits, you could have heard a pin drop.
Also agreed on TDT in full sounding awesome...it's been a while since I've really appreciated how good that album is and when they announced they were playing it in full I wasn't that bothered really, as recently I've listened to way more H&A and AVO BUT it sounded brilliant and I'm so glad the band made the decision to play it in full.
If Bullits Dominae nearly made me burst into tears in Holmfirth, there really is no hope for dry eyes at Heaven, that's for sure...
