Well, what a great debut performance that was!
Flood were great, totally not what I was expecting.
I was kind of expecting her to go down the Fight Fire route with Flood. But instead it seems she's going for a sort of ambient, slow rock sound. One of the tracks in particular reminded me of a Hope of the States track, can't remember which one however. It's actually very hard to explain the sound, but I'm sure either Marcus or John will be able to put it across a lot better than me!
They played about 6 songs tonight. The funny thing is, Chloë told us that she has only finished recording one track. So the songs performed tonight were not fully cooked. But they sounded great regardless.
She will be releasing the one track sometime next month, then she'll have another track (I think) to be released alongside a new Elijah Wood slasher movie (!) sometime in December.
Here's the last two tracks of tonight which I recorded on my iPhone.

Yup, she officially kicked all kinds of arse tonight. Very excited about this. Very difficult to describe, but fortunately the vids give a fairly good impression, nice one Matt! The overwhelming feeling is that the new sound is extremely dark and heavy, kind of proggy (and even metal-y!) in places, lots of strange chord patterns, I think the closest PRR song is maybe last man last round, but it's not really like that. Much less electro than we were expecting. The big difference is lack of multiple vocals, but this actually wasn't a major drawback, as she was sounding very beautiful all alone amid the massive guitars - the sound guys got her voice perfectly in the mix. Lots of high pitch vocal parts too. Very excited to hear what it sounds like in the studio, and also to see the elijah wood film she's apparently soundtracking (i know, wtf?!?!)

Awesome, great work gents, and cheers to Matt for uploading some great video footage. Totally not what I would have expected either; I was absolutely convinced that Chloë would be going down the electro route. Glad you guys had a great evening, and look forward to catching FLOOD myself at some point in the future.

Flood were great, totally not what I was expecting. That basically sums it up for me. ;D Not much to add from my side. Given that they already sounded huge (much more so than the main act last night) with unfinished songs and just a few days of rehearsing makes me really look forward to both the studio and future live work. Oh, and if whoever shouted "We love you Chloe!" during one of the last songs would please speak up? And thanks a million for the two tracks, Matt, they sound terrific!

Wow, wasn't expecting that. The first track (of the vids posted) I could take or leave to be honest, but the second track sounded amazing. A nice ambitious sound with a good groove. Count me all in for this. As others have said though, I'm genuinely surprised it's so light on the keyboards, I really though Chloe would go for a far more electronic sound. Certainly excited for the album now.

Chloe did mention that the drummer was from the forum...
I'm wishing I got a few snippets from each song last night. Oh well, we'll hear them eventually.

Yeah Frankie's on drums, had a little chat after the gig! A worthy successor to Paul's legacy!

Wow, where HAS she been hiding all these years? That voice is terrific and a complete and pleasing departure from the so-called 'close harmonies' she shared with JC. . Also love the backing - uncomplicated and melodic. Good on you Chloe, love it

This is a really magnificent song imo. Comparatively complex in the composition but still sounds thrilling and beautiful.
