I was tempted by this, but the reality is I won't be able to afford the trip there and back. Got to fork out for the new Porcupine Tree & Marillion albums (and PT tour) in April ..plus saving REALLY hard for a mortgage deposit. Hope all that go have a great time though!

Any ideas what 'late' means? Any ideas of PRR stage time?
By the way, These Monsters are good too.
I'll be there, probably only later on though............

I'll probably be going along to this as it's relatively local to me.

PRR on about 9 o'clock I believe and they're playing the usual 45 or so minute set....so not actually all that 'late' at all really! Looking forward to it, on this nice sunny day! (Yes, yes, that's irrelevant, it will be dark by then but still...) Think we're heading up about 4-5ish, see if we can catch a few of the other bands as well.

Was a good show, glad I made the effort to go...sadly, a pretty empty venue with only a couple of rows worth of crowd but the sound mix was generally quite good, nice and loud! They played the same set as the tour except with no encore as for some reason they'd been moved down the bill and were one before headliner. Was nice to hear the crowd shouting for more at the end though, shame the venue weren't having any of it. PRR seemed to go down well I think.
Only real criticism is that there were moments where Chloe looked pretty disheartened and like she didn't really want to be there and with her on centre stage it's quite easy to notice, though she did say afterwards she wasn't feeling well, so maybe it was just down to that.
Had a chat with them afterwards, that was definately their last UK show for a good few months, they're concentrating on recording album number two now.

Yes it was good to see a few PRR regulars yesterday - just a pity the overall attendance was so low. The band rattled off their usual set as mentioned above - and Jon and Jamie seemed in good spirits..........
Anyway, let's hope the new album takes shape quickly and they get back out there to support it!

I only just discovered prr (first gig at mean fiddler followed by 4 more in just over a month!) only to find out they're not doing any gigs for months. I have to say, leicester was dissapointing. maybe it was the lack of crowds but there was a lack of enthusiasm coming from the band which was annoying seeing as it is there last gig for a while. i'm looking forward to the next album though. any idea when it will be released? and how do u put photos on this forum?

Drowned In Sound review of the whole day...slightly perplexed at how they can have such a negative tone towards PRR when they make it quite clear they didn't even bother to watch the set: discover.drownedinsound.com/event/view/23994Don't know about anyone else but I disagree with pretty much most of what they've said about the other bands anyway! Sarah- next album is scheduled to appear by the end of this year. I think the lack of enthusiasm may well have been due to the lack of crowd yes...they've been playing to reasonably full venues of late, particularly on the Blackfield tour, to go into such an uninterested crowd can't be that uplifting and although I disagree with DiS' view of PRR, the fact that they didn't quite fit into that bill was very obvious, I don't know if it was one of the wiser bookings they've ever played.

Just read it. I guess he just doesnt like his prog. The only thing i agree with him on is perhaps PRR being out of place there. We thought that Youthmovies were excellent and can't wait till their next gig.
Thanks for the info btw. I'll be checking this forum for other news very very soon!

All this does not augur well...I had my doubts about this gig beforehand and, seeing the measly crowd I see I was right. The same strikes me about the gig in Barcelona. It's 35km outside the city, PRR are first on at 17:30, and they're supporting the fabulous IQ and Magenta. Anyone heard of THEM? Re the 2nd album. I spoke to them afterwards and it seems that they are indeed writing one, but they will record and produce it then look for a label willing to release it. This is a dangerous move. If there's no label then there's no band................ Maybe that's what Chloe was looking so pissed off about?

That may have been how it 'seemed' but it's not true, there is definately a label looking to release it, which is why they are under time pressure to have it done sooner rather than later, they have been given loose deadlines, hence the focus on recording this summer rather than touring.

Did you find out what label? i was definitely told 'not yet'. I was also told that it's 10 tracks and due around July/ August so we agree there

I didn't go into that much detail with the about which label, I don't tend to ask that many questions, but there certainly didn't seem to be much worry about getting it released from what I heard, their main concern was getting it done as swiftly as the label would like them to. I think July/August may be a little ambitious mind you, I think we're looking more at September at the earliest.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much at the minute, it looks like systems are go which I think is the main thing at the moment. They also assured me they would be on the road again by the end of the year, which is pleasant news.
I can see what you're saying about the Barcelona gig however, I suppose it's a proggy crowd and that's where PRR have been most successful of late, so I can certainly see it being a bit more fruitful than the Leicester gig (though whether fruitful enough to justify their journey to Barcelona is another question entirely.) Maybe, like Leicester, it was booked a little far in advance and seemed a good idea at the time.

The impression I got was that InsideOut would be bringing the next cd out and that dependant on it being ready in Autumn, PRR could get the support slot on the Porcupine Tree US (2nd leg) and Euro tour, around Oct/Nov.
