As it's a totally separate forum (fan forum rather than run by sony/the band, even though the band DID say they were going to back it as the official one but then promptly forgot) stuff can't be carried over, annoying as that is...and just giving you the stars, well, that would take all the fun out of it now wouldn't it...

Looks like I may have to resort to snappy (or otherwise) one liners then, I am a person of few words......you must be dedicated staying up late to post replies

Right, so if we now get three stars for ten posts, how many is it for two? And how many posts do you have to make to become a 'bright ambassador', (with which title only one of our number has been honoured)?

I upped it to 5 posts for 2 stars the other day as we're not a particularly fast moving forum. Rankings are as follows: 0 - New Member, 1 star 5 - Ambassador, in Training, 2 stars 10 - Ambassador, 3 stars 50 - Bright Ambassador, 4 stars 100 - Bright Ambassador of Morning, 5 stars.
It all feels a little silly...but they were the best I could come up with!!

Inane posts such as 'I like pie' shall now become the norm

Another possible system could run along the lines of: 1. Reasoner 2. Pure Reasoner 3. Pure Reason Revolutionary.... I do quite like being an ambassador though...

I've come on specially to say I like pies too.
A bit much, judging by how tight my trousers are...
Er... can I have another star?

ermmm...doesn't this infringe copyright? Is the band getting anything out of it?

Yes technically it does, it's their songs and nobodies getting any money for it. But as far as I'm aware the band have never been bothered, they let me film an acoustic set once. It's only an audience recording, granted by one of the best tapers about at the moment...

Yeah, they know I've got bootlegs and had no problems with it really...it's not going to prevent any of us buying anything they release thats for sure! They also let someone put a video of Deus Ex Machina live up on YouTube despite it being a brand new song etc, so they seem to be alright with these kind of things. Less than an hour to go...cheers ryan by the way, much appreciated! (Got a Porcupine Tree one while I was at it, from the gig I had to leave due to illness a few weeks ago!)

The recent forum one? It's worth checking dimeadozen for the Matrix, it uses bits of Duncans recordings to flesh out another. Sounds great. I can't say how good he is as a taper though, he sent me a couple of DVDs full of his recordings, all great stuff.
Just listening to Deus Ex Machine now, this would be a fantastic direction to go in. I watched that youtube video back when it was first posted but had forgotten really... it's got a great dark vibe going on.

Wow, they've been working on Deus...it sounded good before, but now it's sounding awesome! The backing track has changed too, so Jon HAS actually been doing something all this time! Good bootleg too, makes me very happy!
(And yeah, the PT one I was talking about was the recent forum one, thats great too!)
