El Hamdaoui plays for AZ now, does he? Wow, shows how bad my knowledge of European football is when I can't even keep track of ex-Tottenham boys out there! Didn't see all that much of him during his Spurs days, but I do remember him playing in a pre-season tournament called the Peace Cup for us in 2005 and looking pretty handy as we beat the likes of Lyon and Boca Juniors. In particular, he did a memorable 360-degree pirouette in one of those games that took a couple of defenders out of the game before laying on a fantastic pass to create a clear chance on goal for Keane or Mido or someone. Hope he's doing well for your boys: I suppose that if he's anywhere near the team and you just won the league (by 11 points! ) then he's probably doing something right. Not that it means much, but I don't like ajax (note the lower case 'a'!) very much either. Very sensible reasoning to get to that decision as well... whenever my brother and I played against each other with Dutch teams on early versions of Pro Evolution Soccer, he'd always be ajax and I'd always be PSV! Excellent reason to dislike a team!

Any reason to dislike ajax is good enough for me . They're arrogant, claiming they're still 'the best', while performing very, very badly. El hamdaoui is top scorer in the Netherlands (23 goals), so he did all right. He's actually a 'big star' now in Holland. If you want to know why, check: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ2D1lJBIdoEnglish football seems so much better though (and faster!) I've never been to a game in England, and I would very much like to do so. White Hart Lane seems worth visiting once Well it seems we're going a bit off topic, chatting about football and all. I saw there's a football thread as well on these boards, and that's a very good thing. Maybe we should go over there to continue this. I would like to know if it's difficult to get tickets for a match in London (not Chelsea or Arsenal please, I'm not that into 'the big four'). Something else; it seems that PRR won't be playing for a while (except for Heitere Open Air). I went to the Lorely festival to see them... Luckily Riverside and Gazpacho gave very good performances, but that didn't wash away the disappointment. Any chance they might be playing in Europe coming autumn?

Ah! Well when it comes to discussing football, I think there is a bit of a problem if you want to discuss American Football as well. You see, I haven't got the faintest idea what this sport is really about, and I don't know the rules. It's out of my 'frame of reference', so to speak. And if we want to discuss something, there has to be some common ground or at least some common understanding.

Don't mind if I do, I'm Rob. Originally from Reading, now living near York. I'm 16 years old, and an avid Muse fan, as Max will tell you. It was actually Max who inadvertently got me into PRR about 3 weeks ago, when he tweeted about listening to the Dark Third. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm also a Manchester United fan, so watch out for my rants in the football thread....

Hi, good to be here.
I'm fairly new fan of the band, so, hope to learn all about them...obvoiusly!
I'll be at the Hoxton Square gig and really looking forward to it.
I'm a huge Porcupine Tree fan, but, i just love music and enjoy and appreciate anything from Ella Fitzgerald to Motorhead. ;D
Just a curious question, for the admin, here. Why have you opted for setting the board to Limited Registration? Have had serious troll problems?
Hope to be chatting with you all, soon. Meantime, i'll just read and get a feel of things around here.

Welcome Yes, sadly over the years we've had a few trolling problems so it became necessary for us to keep an eye. It was a decision taken by us and backed by PRR. Sorry if you had to wait too long for approval, bank holiday weekend and all.
