Might as well post here.

name; Jonathan
-
Age;15
-
Location; I live in a small town in New Zealand - I think I'm the second kiwi here, as I see my friend
Sammy already got first kiwi...
-
Occupation; I'm extremely jealous of Ryan's job... Pretty much my dream job (well, one of them at least). I work at The Warehouse (I think it is our equivalent of Woolworth's). I don't hate it as it pays well (in relative to other jobs I could potentially get), most customers aren't too grumpy and it's not as hectic as working at a supermarket.
-
Academic; I do reasonably well at school... I'm in the top class for all my subjects, but i'm not the top student of anything... except, perhaps, Environmental Science - which a pathetic excuse for a subject (but you have to take it if you want to specialised sciences).
-
Hobbies; I think music is the only real passion I have... I used to be pretty passionate about football, but I'm not so much anymore.... hobbies include film making, discovering new music and creating music.
-Favourite bands/artists; PRR (obviously), 65daysofstatic, Porcupine Tree, sleepmakeswaves, Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, Autechre, Aphex Twin, AFX, Steven Wilson, No-Man, Richard Barbieri, The Mint Chicks, Flight of the Conchords, Battle Circus (great tiny NZ band ya'll should check out) and Riverside

last.fm;
last.fm/user/mrguy2039 It's not that accurate as at least 95% of my plays come from my iPod, which I can't scrobble :/

My musical journey...if anyone cares; (I like reminiscing)
---Younger than 10 - I didn't really like music so much, my mum made me a mix-tape with the likes of Robbie Williams and the Gorillas... I did a school project on Crowded house (no shame in that!)
---10-12 - I still didn't care so much... I think I got my first CD which was either an illegally burned copy of "American Idiot", a rock compilation ("Unleashed 2005") or The Killers "Sam's Town"
---13 - I'm not too sure what happened here... I think my taste mainly involved The Killers and Green Day
---14 - At the beginning of the year my friend played me Supermassive Black Hole and another song from Muse. I thought it was a little weird, but I kept them on my iPod (or perhaps computer). A few months later I decided to download some more songs off limewire and I listened to them in a dark room... I found it creepy but somewhat interesting

The music scared me! Anyway, a few months later I listened to some more and eventually got more songs. I'd heard that they were a good live band, so I joined their forum and asked which live DVD I should get. That was the point my Muse addiction started. I then got The Resistance and the rest of their back catalogue.
While I've fallen out of love with Muse, I have them to thank for introducing me into great bands. They have an excellent "other bands" section on their forum and I learnt about a few more acts from there.
When I first discovered Muse I thought they were an un-commercial band (

)... While it wasn't true, it showed me that music didn't have to be massively popular to be good.
---late 14/15 - I discovered Porcupine Tree, and this became my new favourite band (still are)... after time this helped me discover new bands. I'd say a few months ago was when my taste finally became what it is... I'm still discovering new music, just not at the rate I was previously. I recently discovered I like IDM... but that's the biggest "discovery" as of late.
---last note - my "Bands to Discover" excel spreadsheet is 193 artists long... and growing
Sidenote; Me and a couple of friends were bored over the holidays, so we made a rap (it was meant to be a piss-take of regular rap, but ended up sounding quite close to regular rap... People at school seem to like it though!

Sorry for the life story
