Just a curious question, for the admin, here. Why have you opted for setting the board to Limited Registration? Have had serious troll problems?
Hope to be chatting with you all, soon. Meantime, i'll just read and get a feel of things around here.
Yes, sadly over the years we've had a few trolling problems so it became necessary for us to keep an eye. It was a decision taken by us and backed by PRR. Sorry if you had to wait too long for approval, bank holiday weekend and all.
No worries! I inherited a persistant and nasty one, on my board, too. But, that's all over now. We also get them trying it on over on Proboards support. But there, we tend to get clowns like one character who kept turning up on the General Chat board to complain about his neck clicking...yep...that's what i said! ;D But, he eventually gave up, as there were too many of us with our fingers on the delete and ban buttons, for his posts to stay up for more than a few seconds.
Hi my name's Matt and I love Pure Reason Revolution I got into PRR just after AVO was released by stumbling across Twyncyn and I really wanted to see them live ever since. I somehow managed to miss their 2009 London show, it just sneaked past me! Thankfully I got to see them last Thursday and boy was I impressed! It was without a doubt the best gig I'd been to in a long time. Plus I got to meet each band member afterwards and get pictures with them I've got a few videos up on youtube from the gig (Jon said I could put them up!) but you've probably already seen them. Oh and hi Sossity! My friend took your Chloe picture
Like sossity, glad you've managed to make it to your first gig (and quite a stormer it was too!), and I think everyone on here will be very happy that we now have some Youtube footage of Thursday's gig to keep us going until the album comes out in October: ta muchly! ;D
I'm here already for some time and forgot to say hi to you all! sorry for that. Already been 5 times on PRR gigs so maybe we met before. for sure Chloe introduced me to "mhx" who is such a nice person! my name is Jacob aka Kuba on fb. HI Everyone!
-name; Jonathan -Age;15 -Location; I live in a small town in New Zealand - I think I'm the second kiwi here, as I see my friend Sammy already got first kiwi... -Occupation; I'm extremely jealous of Ryan's job... Pretty much my dream job (well, one of them at least). I work at The Warehouse (I think it is our equivalent of Woolworth's). I don't hate it as it pays well (in relative to other jobs I could potentially get), most customers aren't too grumpy and it's not as hectic as working at a supermarket. -Academic; I do reasonably well at school... I'm in the top class for all my subjects, but i'm not the top student of anything... except, perhaps, Environmental Science - which a pathetic excuse for a subject (but you have to take it if you want to specialised sciences). -Hobbies; I think music is the only real passion I have... I used to be pretty passionate about football, but I'm not so much anymore.... hobbies include film making, discovering new music and creating music. -Favourite bands/artists; PRR (obviously), 65daysofstatic, Porcupine Tree, sleepmakeswaves, Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, Autechre, Aphex Twin, AFX, Steven Wilson, No-Man, Richard Barbieri, The Mint Chicks, Flight of the Conchords, Battle Circus (great tiny NZ band ya'll should check out) and Riverside -last.fm; last.fm/user/mrguy2039 It's not that accurate as at least 95% of my plays come from my iPod, which I can't scrobble :/ -My musical journey...if anyone cares; (I like reminiscing) ---Younger than 10 - I didn't really like music so much, my mum made me a mix-tape with the likes of Robbie Williams and the Gorillas... I did a school project on Crowded house (no shame in that!) ---10-12 - I still didn't care so much... I think I got my first CD which was either an illegally burned copy of "American Idiot", a rock compilation ("Unleashed 2005") or The Killers "Sam's Town" ---13 - I'm not too sure what happened here... I think my taste mainly involved The Killers and Green Day ---14 - At the beginning of the year my friend played me Supermassive Black Hole and another song from Muse. I thought it was a little weird, but I kept them on my iPod (or perhaps computer). A few months later I decided to download some more songs off limewire and I listened to them in a dark room... I found it creepy but somewhat interesting The music scared me! Anyway, a few months later I listened to some more and eventually got more songs. I'd heard that they were a good live band, so I joined their forum and asked which live DVD I should get. That was the point my Muse addiction started. I then got The Resistance and the rest of their back catalogue. While I've fallen out of love with Muse, I have them to thank for introducing me into great bands. They have an excellent "other bands" section on their forum and I learnt about a few more acts from there. When I first discovered Muse I thought they were an un-commercial band ()... While it wasn't true, it showed me that music didn't have to be massively popular to be good. ---late 14/15 - I discovered Porcupine Tree, and this became my new favourite band (still are)... after time this helped me discover new bands. I'd say a few months ago was when my taste finally became what it is... I'm still discovering new music, just not at the rate I was previously. I recently discovered I like IDM... but that's the biggest "discovery" as of late. ---last note - my "Bands to Discover" excel spreadsheet is 193 artists long... and growing
Sidenote; Me and a couple of friends were bored over the holidays, so we made a rap (it was meant to be a piss-take of regular rap, but ended up sounding quite close to regular rap... People at school seem to like it though! last.fm/music/Rap+Line+Crisis ...
WOW. You are young. It makes me feel old and I'm only 22 I remember being 15 and discovering all this new music and working out what I liked and stuff, dead exciting.
And my job?! haha. I guarantee you make more money then I do!
I know there are lots of young fans out there...(Jamie said so) maybe just not many on the board?
it's quite exciting, yes...not sure if I prefer finding a band with a massive back catalogue (e.g. porcupine Tree) or finding a small, struggling band that only has an ep or two (e.g. sleepmakeswaves, Battle Circus or Tangled Thoughts of Leaving). I'm not sure if PRR are my favourite band (probably not) but they are the band that blow me away the most whenever I hear something new from them... Hopefully H&A does follows this trend...
I doubt this is true, but even if it is, doesn't make me not jealous! I would do your job for free (well, untill I leave home and need to pay bills)...
