"U.S. Deaths Rise in Afghanistan
June Is Deadliest Month for Troops as Country Sees Taliban Resurgence"
It just occurred to me, that since we (the U.S. military industrial complex and its supporters) are breeding this insurgency... in 10 years, when "they" have gathered enough people to form a real army, and the violence has escalated to a "real" war... we are going to argue that "this is what we were fighting all along, this is what we've been telling you the whole time!" - whereas - this inevitable escalation is what we have been FOSTERING all along, this is what we've been ignoring the whole time!
I swear I feel like all this news, all this horror is only foretelling the further decline into an even crazier Orwellian nightmare. ...no one has the guts to shout "bull**it" anymore... I've been interested in getting ever-more politically and globally conscious since the Y2K bull**it. I've refreshed the news pages online 10 times a day now since then. So I've seen a lot of news, more in that short amount of time than someone who lived 20 years ago, before the internet got as big as it is, likely saw in their entire lifetime of reading the local, physical newspaper. And I've got to say... I'm waiting for a major change in public policy - a sea change. I just don't believe the bull**it anymore, and I'm starting to wonder how much longer this can last.
...ah I don't know if I feel more like "Paint It Black" or "A Day In The Life"...
