I'd love it on there if......it were cleverly merged into another track, or had a new intro or outro...and... providing there were 70 other minutes of beauty, brilliance and beligerence to accompany it...

I guess I have to be the one to be pretty adamantly pro to having VC on the album, whereas Lawrie here is pretty adamantly con to it. I, like some others, always simply assumed that because it was a hit single it would be on the following studio album. And I also, since I live in America, cannot attend all the live shows that Europeans have the opportunity to, so maybe the song doesn't seem as worn out to me. lol, as a side note, I have purposely tried not to wear out the song, b/c I basically knew something like this would happen. Honestly, I have listened to VC about five times, not b/c idl it (i love it!), but b/c I don't want to wear it out. Also, again b/c I don't live in Europe, it's alot more difficult for me to obtain the singles, so I only have cautionary tales and (this was a large investment) the two disc Dark Third all the way from Germany. So, maybe I'm just being selfish, but I kind of want to see it on the following album, one of the main reasons being b/c I want to own it on a disc (a studio album, that is). So, some question how it can possibly fit into the next album when PRR is seemingly heading in an entirely new direction. Well, think about Golden Clothes. [Now I have the two disc, so GC is the last song of the two cds, so it may be diff for others] It's pretty cool how their entire album follows a general pattern if you will, and you begin GC. This song starts like the rest of them, so you don't think any different. But when at the end it smoothly transitions to a more electronic sound, it sounds great and possibly even foreshadows where the band will go in the next album. So, I have said all that to say that maybe the next album will start Dark Thirdish and change to electronic, like they're giving us an intro to the album, or a refresher of the last, then they will let us listen to our long awaited electronic stuff. Just my thoughts

Yeah it's good point and could be very interesting if executed well. I would like to reaffirm that although I adamantly feel that VC being on the new album is a bad sign, I still retain 100% faith in PRR's creative ability and do not doubt that what we shall see in the *autumn* will be as masterful if not more than the dark third.

Funny fact : I am that Victo_prog guy on last.fm
That was before I joined these boards and I knew that from a friend who knew about just as much as I did back then.
I did know for sure that Twyncyn/Trembling Willows wouldn't be on the next album, because it's a Dark Third track... I mean, they wouldn't do something as cheap as filling the new long-awaited studio album with stuff we've already heard ...
Well, I hope not ...
Victorious Cupid is a good song but doesn't deserve it's place on the next album like Gloaming does...
Yea, brought back an old topic because I saw my name mentionned in it ...

I think that not everyone has a computer nowadays and may not of actually heard it that much. I don't think putting VC on the album will cause that much trouble because there still are fans out there who would prefer a a copy of the the song that they can hold in their hands.

Welcome to the forums! Yeah, that's indeed a fair point and is probably even more true for people outside the UK who would have found it harder to order a copy of the ORG single when it came out (if they missed the period in 2006 where you downloading it from the Myspace was enabled by the band). *mumbles* still don't want it on my Album 2 though, the band better record me a personalised version of the album with a brand new track in its place... *more Muttley-like grumbling*

Thanks! As you can see I'm new to this so I apologise if I make a 'forum mistake' but is there any news on a title for the album?

Hey, feel free to ask anything you like! ;D You might not always get an answer, but someone's always likely to help you out as best they can.
As yet, there is no news on the title of Album 2, but the following tracks will almost certainly feature on it:
Victorious Cupid Deus Ex Machina Gloaming Apogee Of My Love Les Malheurs (working title) Disconnect
All of these apart from Disconnect have now featured in the live set, and Disconnect was briefly on the Myspace Album Sampler before it was shortened down.

I'll pardon Victorious Cupid on the new album only if it comes as 2 discs... If not, then I'll skip it all the time.

I think that's kind of unfair. It's still pure PRR goodness. Even if I didn't want VC on Album 2, I would still listen to it, just like I would listen to any of their other stuff! But then again, I've never really had a problem skipping their songs, because I love every one of them!
