Now this I am VERY excited about! Special guest(s) for our night at The Barfly, Camden (30th July) will be none other than Christopher D Ashley![/size] We've been fans of this artist for sometime now so we're very excited to have him (and his all-star band) on the bill! His debut album ' Cruel Romantics' was released on Sunday Best (Rob Da Banks label) last April and caused quite a stir in the music press… "Sluttish warehouse electro from London's coolest new producer" NME"Exceptional... needs to be heard to be believed" DJ Mag"Something quite special" Music WeekCome and check out this exciting new artist before the rest of the world does! www.myspace.com/christopherdashleywww.christopherdashley.comDon't forget this show is to pre-view just some of what you can expect from us in the autumn. We're very excited about escaping from the studio and performing our new material. You can expect new unheard material as well as some old favourites. Tickets for the Barfly are still available but are soon to be hot property. Book early to avoid disappointment. Book tickets here - www.barflyclub.comPaul. (the romantic lover) PS – Our myspace page has a new look... Hope you like it…? Believe it or not the background is actually the lyrics to one of our tunes. Your best guess on a postcard……?

Wasn't all that taken with the stuff on the Vessels Myspace page before the Water Rats gig, but they impressed me when I actually saw them supporting PRR in the flesh at the Water Rats, so with a bit of luck Mr Ashley can go one better and make me leave the Barfly as a dribbling fanboy! Don't forget this show is to pre-view just some of what you can expect from us in the autumn. We're very excited about escaping from the studio and performing our new material. You can expect new unheard material as well as some old favourites. That is exactly what I wanted to hear! Don't get me wrong, I love seeing golden oldies like Bright Ambassadors etc, but for me there's nothing finer than hearing a new song for the very first time at a gig. Very, very pleased that we're gonna get some of this at the Barfly: kudos to the band for that. If the other new stuff we hear is at the same standard as Deus or Gloaming then I'm going to be a very happy chappy indeed... and it would be a fantastic omen for the quality of the second album! PS – Our myspace page has a new look... Hope you like it…? Believe it or not the background is actually the lyrics to one of our tunes. Your best guess on a postcard……? Sadly enough, I noticed this - I don't know whether to feel a sneaking sense of pride or [more probably] a deep sense of embarrassment! / ;D Now I have perfect 20:20 vision, and I can't even begin to guess by just looking at the words themselves: they're far too small and blurry for that to work. I guess the answer would be to look at the length and structure of the lines and try and fit a guess at the lyrics from that... but I have no ideas at the moment!

Bet it's Trembling Willows. I can't see the new page due to myspace bizzarely being blocked on this particular computer, but I remember the lyrics sheet for Willows featured in one of the home video thingies...

well, I couldn't read it myself, but when I saved the picture to my pictures, (yes I cheated and tried to use zoom) it was automatically titled Deus2. so maybe it's the lyrics Deus Ex Machina.

Ha ha ha, we have a winner! Seriously, if I were wearing a hat, I'd take it off for you - that is a genius bit of innovation, and you've genuinely put a big grin across my face for having got round that so cleverly: fair play! ;D *still chuckling...*
