The sample from #5 (Disconnect, apparently) was a much more laid back, ambient affair, and it sounded like it had a fair few more musical elements layered in the mix - guitar, piano, synth, lots of drums and maybe electronic drum fills. Harmonic vocals as we've come to know and love. Sounded a little like a more 'electronic' version of Asleep Under Eiderdown, on early listens. yeah, I'd say you're about right - lyrically though, and a little bit musically, it ties in strongly with Deus Ex Machina. it's got the 'did you feel love...' hook in there.

yeah, there's some acoustic guitar in disconnect, quite low in the mix though.
as for effigy (apogee?), there's definately some geeetar in there.
no title as of yet.

Yes, I think it's 'Apogee' - I know Jon was working on a song with this title back in 2006

Mmmm had a listen at last- Deus is as amazing as always, as is Gloaming which is quickly becoming a favourite of mine but the middle one is taking some getting used to- I feel its a little in danger of being a bit electro cheesy, rather than electro cool...but hopefully when I hear the full track I'll fall for it like the others. But bodes very well for the new album if you ask me!

Ooh, just noticed there's a definate change in lyrics in the version of Deus up on the album sampler, how did that one pass me by before?!
Also, I'd like to revoke the comments about Apogee, having heard the track live in full last night, it makes alot more sense to my ears and as suspected, it's grown on me already, that main hook is really, really good!

Sorry to revive a dead topic, but some of us must still rely on this teaser (and the Water Rats/Bonn bootlegs, plus Deus/VC, which we've had for a while) as our only exposure to Amor Vincit Omnia! I still think Apogee of My Love sounds incredible, even from just this little snippet, but I'm curious as to how this fits into the context of the song. . . Seems like maybe verse ("I want to know", "Our lives drawn to you". . .), prechorus ("You were telling me, my love, now I won't let us down. . ."), chorus ("*Something* hearts to the apogee"). Comments? Also, I must say Lawrie's comment about Disconnect reminding him of Asleep Under Eiderdown has gotten me all excited, as that's maybe my favorite PRR song (weird, I know). And I have no idea what Les Malheurs sounds like. So many good surprises waiting for us in March.

Don't worry - it's less than 3 months until the album is out! ;D
It should just fly past - we PRR fans are used to waiting.
