Word from the mother is that tonight went really well in Southampton, said they were brilliant and that it was a very packed, sweaty gig...thats all I've got in text form, but certainly no tech hitches or anything to speak of which is always good to know!
My turn next, bring on tomorrow! ;D ;D

Glad Southampton went well & have fun BA! And as requested... a t-shirt pic... The first picture obviously being the front, with the secondary photo detailing the sleeve. The other t-shirt is pretty much the text (on the sleeve) on the t-shirt I bought with Amor Vincit Omnia written underneath on the chest area of the shirt. I personally find the giant PRR more interesting... Apologies for the plastic bag in the background, I'm not a tramp, I promise.

Mmmmm...am I the only one a little disappointed with these? I mean, they are obviously much better than the last ones but still fairly uninspiring. Certainly get the point across though, don't they!? Not that it'll stop me from buying one of course...

Can't wait now only 3 hours until we leave for manchester and jump around to trembling willows. There a few older guys coming with us too, one of them is my dad so they will probably politely nod their heads at the back.

Yep, probably 4 and a bit hours til I get on my way- I've got blonde hair and I think I'll be wearing a black headband, I'm bound to be dwelling round the front, singing all the words and looking generally overenthusiastic, so if you see me, come and say hi!

Ha, BA sounds like the Northern equivelent to how I were, except I don brown hair and no headband... I completely agree about the t-shirts by the way, but it was a PRR t-shirt so I mentally justified it to myself. It's a bit too big as they couldn't find the size I wanted but it doubles up as a dress. A PRR dress. Weeeyyy!!
Badger- they don't have long sleeve t-shirts from what I recall, sorry!

How much are the posters, and what are they of? Reckon the T-shirt is possibly just a bit too...you know...pointless - especially at that price.

So...Manchester last night. First things first, they were absolutely blinding, they are, in my opinion, on as good a form now as when I started seeing them 3 years ago and that really is saying something and has been long overdue. Their harmonies live are magnificent, the sound mix was, dare I say it, spot on (or near enough, and any little things like vocals too low were corrected within an instant, something that I've never understood not happening before, all you do is push a switch up!) Obviously the set was the same as at the other dates. As others have said, it hits you with force and at the point where Appogee rocks a bit in the middle, it sounded incredibly powerful, I almost wish that bit was slightly longer, as its very much an 'Ambassadors-esque' moment when they play it live. Shame they don't put Requiem on the end live, as it is my favourite moment of the album.
Jamie, as usual, had a bit of a problem in that he broke a string at the end of Ambassadors and ran off stage in very dramatic fashion to go change it- slighly panicked me a bit but without need, he was back just about in time! Oh yes...backing track, for the new material is indeed almost competely gone and you can see this most in Gloaming, where in fact it does sound a tiny bit messy in places, only because there is so much going on you can see how hard they are working to recreate it on stage. But for anyone who is going to get fussy about it, it's still there for the old tracks, for obvious reasons. My only slight disappointment of the night was AVO...it just didn't quite sound as epic live as it does on the record but its a track of such high production that maybe thats to be expected- again though the building harmonies were fantastic and when it kicked in it made me grin like an idiot! But I've heard reports that it's been good elsewhere so maybe I was unlucky, I'll see again tonight! (Spoilt I know...)
The venue itself was OK but a bit...wierd. They were over an hour late opening the doors- did not appreciate standing in the cold rain for 15 minutes! There were support bands in a tiny room nextdoor AND in the wider more club-like room where PRR played. Security were also a bit up their own backsides, it has to be said and were very keen to kick people out, meaning people who had waited for the signing didn't get their chance, which I think was ridiculous of them seeing as on the website they venue had advertised it as open til 2am! Didn't bother me so much but still, I have a real dislike for the shouting type of security yelling 'CAN YOU ALL MAKE YOUR WAY OUT' the second the band put down their guitars.
All of that and the three hour journey to get home aside, it was a brilliant evening and I can't wait for tonight! Time to get off and watch that DVD I feel...uni work, whats that? (Well, I say that, the mammoth journey home meant I got a good load of reading done at least!)
Oh and for people asking about merch...I didn't see any posters for sale personally, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. The digi pack is £13 on the tour, so more expensive than off the internet. They were also selling a signed drumskin for £20, so be prepared if anybody feels that might take their fancy but obviously I guess thats only going to be when they have one about!

Wow, seems like it's going well then! The reason the band aborted les mals at Reading was due to a fault with the sound desk. NOT backing track. There's a blog being updated by the guitar tech here: tourvincitomnia.wordpress.comHaha, the Manchester update is hilarious! I'm not impressed with their fort though, it doesn't count as a real effort unless mattresses are involved.

Maybe it was just Norwich that was selling posters.... :/ But they're £2 a pop anyway. I saw no drum skins though! But considering the amount of stuff I got signed that would be greedy to obtain one...
I'm with BA on AVO... I was slightly disappointed with it live because the studio version makes me wet my pants in a sexual manner (I'm too disgusting for this forum, really.) but that's bound to be the case, and they still do a cracking job of it live.

That's far too technical to be considered disgusting I'm in two minds about the T-shirts. They seem pretty bland. At least they haven't got the album cover on it...I don't want to be walking around with people staring at my chest and thinking "lolwhut?!"

Are you going to the Cockpit gig?
