Who else secretly wants to hear the Cupid remix done live? It'd be in your top 12?! No mentions for the IDC version of In Aurelia yet, either... Ay, I do have a soft spot for that one, I think it works...not that it's a live track obviously...not really what remixes are for.

It's still quite guitar lead if I remember right though? They aren't really at the point where they'd get away with playing atl. versions though I think, too many people would moan about it. One day though, they could switch up Ambassadors into a disco stomper.

I have about a 50:50 ratio of time where I'm convinced that I prefer the original In Aurelia, and time where I'm convinced I prefer the IDC remix. Both great tunes, regardless. On the other hand, I have about a 100:0 ratio of time where I'm convinced that I prefer the original Victorious Cupid! Not that I particularly dislike the remix per se, and I still listen to it every so often, but it's not as good as the Original Recipe version.

I think I'd be one of the minority happy to see alternative versions of tunes get played (I remember speaking to Jamie after the show at the Hertford Marquee in 2007, and him telling me that the band were trying to get a -quote unquote- "house version" of The Intention Craft into the live set but couldn't make it work in rehearsals - I would LOVE to hear that!), but I can see why it would still be better for the majority of the crowd for this not to happen, and though I'd be happy to see it, it's not something that's essential to me enjoying the gigs either.

I wouldn't be surprised if they find ways to make it work, to make the old stuff fit with the new stuff. We'll see what they do on this next tour I guess.

I definitely thing alternate versions would be a good thing. If they could electrofy some of their old stuff it would be friggin great!

Well lahdeedah Mr. and Mrs I-have-the-IDC-remix-of-In-Aurelia-so-neeeeeeh. LOL. I feel the same. I suppose my job, after coming late to the party, is made a whole lot harder with the AVO out now. Hmmm.... Les Malheurs Apogee Deus Ex Machina In Aurelia Goshen's Remains Golden Clothes Borgens Vor The Gloaming AVO ~~~ Bullitts Dominae Twyncyn/Trembling Willows HTTSTM! Words about this: I adore HTTSTM! and also thought it a good way of eliminating TBAOM from a setlist. Who needs it if you have Ambassadors return? That whole encore would, IMO, be amazing. I spent ages trying to work out how certain songs would fade into each other. Patently some of these wouldn't work, but these are the songs that would make up my ideal setlist (as TDF has suggested, part of this is whacking in songs that you haven't seen live deliberately - I wouldn't want Sound Of Free, and I don't think I could work in Exact Colour). Some of the construction is slightly limited by my feeling that: AVO and HTTSTM! couldn't be played without closing a portion of the set, and Malheurs would have to open a portion. Ideally, In Aurelia starts the encore, but it's not going to unseat Bullitts!

With the new album, I would chop In Aurelia and Borgens from my list and replace them with Malheurs and AVO.

I think the setlist is a bit short, like the actual setlist PRR is playing during the current tour. There enough songs to play an 2 hours set.
Maybe there are reasons not to play that long. Considering that the (new) audience is getting tired by listening to a longer set. I hope that's not the reason. Maybe it's hard for the band to play and sing 2 hours long. But there are lots of bands who do that.

Man, be grateful that it tops an hour these days!

No actually I think they'd work pretty well in the same place.

What? Fiar enough for Borgens ---> Les Malheurs but AVO can't be just sanwiched between Malheurs and Intention Craft, can it? AVO is so (am I going to use his word?) lush and swelling that it has to be a closer of sorts. IMO, obviously.
