Myspace bulletin from Jamie today...not an awful lot of information contained but lots of hints at things in the pipeline and a couple of photos from the European tour...

As you have probably noticed it has been very quiet on the PRR front.

That is all about to change my friends…..

We have a lot of making up to do, there is a lot to tell you about and I guess it’s about time we gave you some news and explanations.

Ok so first things first, we are truly sorry for the lack of updates, the last few months have been some of the hardest few months for the four of us and the people working closely with us, there are a lot of things we can’t discuss, most of it would bore you to death and we don’t want that now, do we?

We haven’t really talked about the Porcupine Tree tour as of yet (which I know is terrible), and apart from the usual problems with amps blowing up and people fainting in venues because of the heat, the shows were amazing, the countries we visited were gorgeous, the people we met were lovely and Porcupine Tree were a great band to go out with.
It was also great to go back to Europe and visit countries we’ve been to before and also put our stamp on some new countries too.

Apart from the one off “Freshers Week” show in Southampton a few weeks ago it has been a little quiet in the UK for a while. We will be back soon enough, that is a promise. Playing the show in Southampton made us realise we are not forgotten in our home country and personally I can’t wait to get back on the road.

A few of you eagle eyed internet users out there may have seen we are unsigned at the moment, just to reassure you all, we are in the middle of talks as I write this and that wont be the case for much longer. All I can say is look out for a single in the coming few months.

In the most recent news we have now moved to a great little studio, which is amazing, it suits us just fine, has a good atmosphere and Jon is in there right now

That pretty much brings us up to date.

Keep on checking back for more updates because we promise to be giving you the news thick and fast from now on.

Good stuff, it's great to hear them actually getting in touch with the fans, even if they can't say much/haven't got much to say. This is something which they admit they have been doing poorly in recent times, and hopefully this will be the start of PRR re-establishing a relationship with the fans going forward.

great Comte DC is in the studio, now if the speed of knob twiddling could be increased..........a new LP by...um herm....anyways Im just glad they are surviving and living to fight another day. Looks like email to Jonathon might have made some difference which is nice

btw.....huge task to get to bright ambass, just about imposs to get to bright ambass of morning.....how many to be a trembling willow well i'm tall enough

Woah, erm have you been smoking something Mike? One of the least coherent posts I've ever seen! Excellent to hear from Jamie though, I sure hope PRR are about to record/release some amazing music.

Hmmm...so the news is...there is no news. despite the promise of a European diary before they set off on the PT tour, we got nothing. I only know what went on through BA's reports.
There's a 'new' single coming out. pretty obvious...that's what bands do - release recordings. Point is when and how?
i wonder if the the 'studio' is Jon's bedroom, as he pointed out that's where they will be doing their 'stuff' in the interview on the last Euro tour?
I wonder if for the next release the band will follow the 'label' marketing model, or the Arctic/Radiohead model (give the songs away and make spondulicks out of touring). (Maybe someone would like to start a thread about what we think?) That way we in the UK may get a chance to see them live, which for me is what it's all about

I think it's less of a 'the news is there is no news', and more of a 'the news is news is coming'. But agreed it's not as spectacular as it could of been. We just have to keep waiting I guess and hope for the best.

I was under the impression 'Inside Out' were releasing the next cd, part of the deal when the euro double version of TDT was released? But this would appear otherwise from the management:

Anyone else get the impression they're just kiilling time at the mo? Their latest bulletin (for all non myspace users) simply stated that they had some videos on youtube, as if we didn't know...maybe regular bulletins aren't as great as we thought they might be...

We have to take this at face value, I think. InsideOut released TDT under licence to Sony/BMG in Europe. The band aren't signed to IO or any label, and I guess that they will have to go through the process (again) of finding a label to support their music. I'm not sure InsideOut will do this in the UK? They seem to be more EU orientated.

Last I heard, depending on the album they produce it'll eithier be on InsideOut, or the new subsidery Superball (who's first and so far only album release has been Oceansize new one).
