I am very excited about AVO, especially about the bonus DVD! At the Superball site, the DVD is listed as PAL. Since I'm in the US, I am wondering if AVO will be released State-side with the DVD as well? I emailed Superball yesterday, and haven't heard back yet.

Hmmm. I too live in the States, and have already pre-ordered the special edition. I hadn't thought of this. I would like to assume that computer DVD players don't care about DVD region, and if they do, there's probably something you can download to make it work. Google is your friend.

Well.
We have to guess for now, but I would guess it'll be Region 0. That means it'll play anywhere. Now, PAL is the European TV format, it's a slightly different screen size and also frame rate (25fps rather than NTSCs 29andabit-fps). Computers don't have an issue with this because they treat things a bit differently, but you'll find that a lot of TVs and DVD players now will play both PAL and NTSC. What you also tend to find is that really cheep DVD players will play almost anything.
So I wouldn't worry too much really. I'm in the UK and have plenty of NTSC DVDs that play no worries at all.

Maybe a separate live DVD release?

I dunno, I reckon it might just be due to poor footage - I'm no expert but the constant moving about and jiggery pokery from the film crew at Cargo didn't look all that stellar even to my layman's perspective. Believe Ryan knows a bit about the filming of gigs and raised some similar points, so it's certainly a contender of a reason for the footage's non-appearance.

I think at the moment, there isn't any plans to release the album in the states right now. that's not to say it won't be released at some point in the future. getting it on import is probably your best bet.

Yeah, you're probably right; that coupled with Jamie's amp packing up probably relegates this to the Archives!

i'm not sure superball have released anything in the states yet. i know Oceansize Frames album is planned to go out over there, but it has for a long time now! Yeah, you're probably right; that coupled with Jamie's amp packing up probably relegates this to the Archives! To be fair, this was was only for the first 2 songs. They could have still salvaged it, had the camera man chosen not to stick the camera up Chloe's nose all night..

Yeah, I know but I think it affected Jamie's performance adversely; he told me himself he was being a bit of a brat that night! I've had similar experiences, and you just tend to spend the whole gig staring furiously at the offending piece of gear, and twiddling knobs. You're right about the camera man though; the band did extremely well in ignoring and should be applauded for not booting him offstage

I'm hoping that footage doesn't see the light of day, or at least edits me out.
