You just need to do a 2 second registration for the forums to read the page, TDF, but since I've just done that myself, here is the post: Yes. I own Progressive Arts which also dba NEARfest Records. We are starting work on a PRR live album, the NF06 DVD, & a Le Orme 2CD set. Btw Keith Emerson is buying his audio and video .More news to come.
The echolyn release is all up to Brett!

!!!!very exciting (cheers scat)
But how can they already be contemplating live albums and stuff when they haven't given us the second studio album? Not that I'm complaining - I would LOVE to hear a PRR live album.

In my [uninformed] take on things: 1) We know the band *are* currently working on studio album #2, so there's no knowing whether that would arrive before or after a potential live album. 2) The poster on those forums wasn't a band member (seemed like he was involved in some official capacity with NearFest), so we don't know how much [if any] time PRR themselves are spending on 'creating' a live album: it may be that the NearFest chaps just get a decent recording out of the gig that PRR approve (or otherwise tinker with), and hey presto you have a live album that in no way hinders recording a new studio album. 3) There's no rule that says that the band have to release a second studio album before a potential live album, and there's nothing stopping both coming out within a short gap of each other. 4) nikosonfire *is* in the know with the behind-the-scenes workings of PRR, so if he says to sit tight, that's all we need to hear... ;D

Agreed! Best of both worlds would be a two CD release with both live and recorded stuff! Who is nikos could someone tell a poor old not-long-enough-fan like me?

Not trying to be deliberately obtuse or secretive, but don't really feel that it's my place to say how nikosonfire is connected with the band, that's not my decision to make. We all have usernames so that people can protect their privacy if they choose to (by the way, I don't really give a monkey's about mine - my name's Lawrie if anyone ever feels silly typing scat1620, it's an old uni e-mail login that is convenient for me to remember as a username). But for privacy's sake we shouldn't dig into people's personal details unless they themselves offer to discuss them, in my opinion. If this live album and/or live DVD does come out at some point or another, don't suppose anyone knows the set that PRR played at NearFest, do they? I'm almost salivating at the idea that we'd get a new studio album AND a live album/DVD in the same year from our Revolutionary pedigree chums...

Yep totally, if Nikosonfire wanted to tell everyone then he would, but you can safely say he knows what he's talking about and that should be enough to satisfy our hunger for knowledge!
They probably played the set they played all summer, which was... In Aurelia Borgens Deus Ex Machina Ambassadors Victorious Cupid Voices In Winter Willows Golden Clothes Ending Bit
I think there might have been an encore at Nearfest as well but that I don't know- they usually use the Intention Craft for that, if they do one.

DF, you poor naiive boy...try typing "forum nikosonfire" into google. All will be revealed. Just look for the quote "there's no good thing as a brilliant unsigned band, the brilliant ones get signed" Ooopsss

Yup, agreed. I don't want to pry...I was just asking in case it was common knowledge, ie not private. But if it is that's fine with me. I was just curious, I don't really care that much.

I don't think they did an encore at NF..could be wrong, but normally only the headliners do them.

Well I still don't know who you are. That search came up with three hits, one of them was this forum, one was baldyslaphead's discography, and the third was some 'berkshire live' forum or something that didn't say anything really. Not that I looked particularly hard...

I dont think anyone knows more than they did last week or whatever to be honest...so stay!!! But fair play if you've really decided you can't stick about. Shame though, it was nice to have someone speaking with at least a little bit of truth for a change...

I don't see why that means you can't post to be honest. For a start there's only a couple of people who didn't know already, I know I was told on the old board. It is nice to have someone that can at least give a yes or no to the stuff speculated about, even if it's not something you can do all the time. And at the end of the day, you're a fan and that's what we're here for.
