I'm just listening to this 'un again.
Feels like it'll end up a little lost, after getting it's glory on the myspace and all the excitment about that the (3rd) reissue got a bit lost I felt. It's such a tune though, sounds like a mix of 'old' (ie, prog) and new (ie, the electronic elements really coming out). It's almost got some glitch in it, and the breakdown at the end is really one of my favourite PRR moments to be honest.
Being sad as I am I bought all three versions of the album but I'm glad I got the most recent just for this tune (though Bogans Vor was a bit of a let down, not being the full live version).
Have we all heard it? What do we think about the direction (particualy with Cupid and Deus in mind too)?

I love Golden Clothes. I agree with your comment that it became a bit 'lost' by only being released on the eventual European release of TDT, but the band only really have themselves to blame on that score: it could've been included on the original UK release of The Dark Third, I think (remember Jon mentioning it on their site/myspace prior to TDT). If not the band could've sold it as a standalone single on iTunes or summat, or held it back for the new album. Whichever way you look at it, it got sold short as a track. But yes, it is the mutt's nuts in my view.

Honestly, this tune is SO good. I would be over the moon with this electro-prog (sorry, that's a shit label) vibe from the rest of the new stuff. The breakdown is a sexy as moment in PRRs catalouge.

Cupid isn't my favourite thing they've done, but as a more straight forward rock track i think it's pretty good.
I'm looking forward to hearing Deus recorded, sounds like it'll be a stormer. It's really good to hear they are going somewhere a bit different and not just rehasing the first album like some bands would.

Oh, I thought Cupid was fantastic! I know it's very Dark Thirdish but that's not a bad thing...it probably won't be on the next album, so there's no reason for it to be in any way different from the old stuff.

Yeah, I love cupid too...personally I prefer it to Golden Clothes until that final bit which they've been playing live- that bit is awesome.
Deus though, for me, is in another league, I love it and would love to hear a recorded version, I think when it's been recorded it will be immense. I also think in the current climate of music, if they were to go down that road with electro influences mixed in there would be a lot more potential to sell the stuff than there was with TDT. (Of course, in no way should it be about commercial success...but it would be a bonus.)
