Ok, better late than never!
Choosing only 8 songs is really tough (initially, I had 15 songs on that introduction CD), but here they are:
1. In Aurélia (Live)
2. The Exact Colour
3. Victorious Cupid (Single Version)
4. Goshen's Remains
5. The Twyncyn / Trembling Willows
6. The Gloaming
7. Sound Of Free
8. Nimos & Tambos (Acoustic Version)
Rationale:
I've just listened to exactly that playlist and must admit that I really like it. Even the song transitions are quite pleasing. /me hits the repeat button... ;D

Rationale:
- I tried not to choose too many tracks from the "regular" albums, so there will be still enough to explore after listening to the intro disc. So only one track from each of TDT and AVO.
- OTOH, I tried to choose songs that show the full spectrum of PRR.
- The live version of In Aurélia on the Nearfest CD absolutely rocks! The intro, the drums, the vocals, the guitar work, everything is just amazing.
- The Exact Colour is one of my favourites, so it just has to be in here.
- VC is nice to get up to speed after TEC. I chose the single version because it took me a while to get used to the new album mix. (I like the new mix, but IMHO it lacks the transparency of the single version.)
- Goshen's is the track that perfectly summarizes TDT.
- The Twyncyn / TW to show the gloomy side of PRR.
- I didn't like The Gloaming very much when I first listened to it, but it's starting to become my favourite song on AVO (which just means it's growing faster than the rest ). Shows their electronic side. I think two weeks ago I would have chosen Les Malheurs instead, but The Gloaming seems like a better contrast in between TW and SOF.
- Sound Of Free shows the early PRR and is just a fantastic song, even though it might be missing the complexity of the later stuff.
- I wanted something quiet for the last song and something that shows yet another side of PRR. So it had to be one of the two lovely acoustics from the VC single.
I've just listened to exactly that playlist and must admit that I really like it. Even the song transitions are quite pleasing. /me hits the repeat button... ;D
