Anyone know the story behind this? They were announced as being on the bill for quite a while and then it was recently announced that they weren't playing after all 'due to unforeseen circumstances'.

No idea I'm afraid....seems a little odd, as they never announced they were playing it to anyone.
I personally can't say I think it's a terrible thing, I've been going on for literally years now about how they need to get out of the prog circuit, it doesn't really fit them any more.
Having said that, I do hope you weren't let down if you bought a ticket, that's never fun.

+1 to all of what BA has said above, especially if you have parted with cash for tickets: hope you haven't/you can get a refund if you want one.

Thanks for your concern, but fortunately there are enough other bands on the line-up to still make it worth while (for me, anyway - prog has always been my favourite genre!). PRR would have been the icing on the cake, though. Still, I'm hoping to catch them in Aschaffenburg, supporting Riverside on 25th April - I work in Germany about 1 week a month, and I always try and organise my time around 'gigs of interest'!

Got my tickets for Aschaffenburg yesterday. Given the lineup, this can only be awesome. At least if Jolly are only half as good live as they sound on their album. I have no doubts about PRR and Riverside.
