Hi, I've been thinking about this for a couple of days now and I would like to know your opinions on it. The idea is to create a PRR wiki, with info about the gigs, the band members, the songs, albums etc... just like Ninwiki or Musewiki. I think this kind of wikis are useful and are a very complete info source.
Thoughts?

I'm sure no one would object. I have no experience of creating/editing wiki pages, and being honest I have no inclination whatsoever to begin to learn about that, but I'd say it's a case of "go for it, fill your boots".
Having never really used a non-Wikipedia wiki, I'm not sure if there is enough information out there about PRR (or enough content i.e. enough background/current activity etc to make a PRR wiki worthwhile), but if it sounds like it could be done then I'm sure everyone here would be at least passively in favour of such a site.

I work/ed on an Oceansize one but it's so tricky to keep everything ticking over and working. Even ninwiki is full of rubbish.
Again, in theory I'd say yes but how much info is there on PRR that needs collecting in one place anyway?

Nice idea, but there isn't really enough stuff to put on it to make it worth the effort, in my opinion.

The nice thing about a wiki, is that no one person has to carry all the work on their shoulders.
I think if you set it up, with a biog and relevant sections and then open it up for the band members and list members to help fill it in, you could have quite a nice Wiki.

Actually almost all the info is already on real wikipedia. Feel free to edit that if there's anything missing. There's pages for PRR, Jon, Chloe, Superball Music, AVO, TDT, Cautionary Tales, Live at Nearfest, Ambassadors, Apprentice, The Sunset Sound...there's even a discography on the main page.

I think it would be a good idea....
It would be good to start it now, before PRR are big, and have lots of info....

there was a site dedicated to all the credits, artwork, track lists, etc that was set up sometime in late 2006. But I have no clue if it's still around.

That was Fraser's (aka baldyslaphead) discography site. He was a member of the old Sony forums and I think he's registered on here, albeit he hasn't posted for ages. I too haven't checked to see whether it's still up, but as a discography it was second to none.

The last update is from about a year ago when I dropped Fraser an email. Little happened since then discography-wise, so I'd assume he's still maintaining the site.

oh wow, i haven't visited that site in ages! i just spent some time there, and it brought light to several really cool things, a) the intention craft single that I've had for ages has the intention craft video on it! This is great news, as it's better quality than the youtube one and now I officially own my favourite music video ever! b) omg how many compilations is prr on!! Wow! c) I started stalking Gel, which i never bothered to do before. Turns out, they have a pretty cool myspace www.myspace.com/sparklythings1998, with a massive 2800 profile views, and four tracks that are surprisingly fun and feature Jon at his most Brian Wilson-y. The site www.xrecords.co.uk/ claims to ship copies of their album sparkly things (12 whole tracks!), I'm still in two minds whether I want to fork out £11 for it (and also whether I trust that site).

Hello!
Just to let you know I am still maintaining the site - just waiting for something new to come out!
Sorry if I'm a bit quiet these days - blame baby#2 for time suckage - but I'm still very much a PRR fanatic and am looking forward to the new album.
Oh, and I see you lot dealt with a Q from Angstrom re: In the Realm of the Divine. He did email me about it, but I'm afraid it got away from me. Apologies Angstrom; the answer you got is pretty damned comprehensive though.
If anyone has anything for the discography, please let me know! ;D
