So, as announced in Jamie's last bulletin, PRR will be playing in London again in September ;D
It may only be a short set but I sniff the word the 'new songs' and I'm there. Sounds like it could be a fun night for a mere fiver. Well, aside from the threat of Razorlight Jamie mentioned...
Anyone else planning to come along?

I'm there, ticket already booked. Anyone else done one of these NME club nights before and know the format? Have to confess I'm a bit more of a traditional gig man, and don't know exactly what to expect. From the information I know now, I have the timeline as: 21:30 - doors open Some time before midnight - normal pre-gig music through the PA system and bar open? Some later time before midnight - support band (forget the name) play a short set 00:00 - PRR play a short set, 30-40 mins-ish 00:30 - club night until closing? Anyone know more than me? Shouldn't be hard!

It's a club night, so it's like a normal club but with indie tunes and with a band playing at midnight. I've seen the queue outside Koko for them and it's full of people dressed as you'd expect for an NME clubnight, whatever that means...
I have a feeling I've been to a gig that segued into one of these. I wanna say it was My Vitriol with PRR supporting but I'm sure that's not the case...

Except then I think the bands played normal times and then the night started rather than the band as part of the club night.

Shouldn't be hard! Sounds about right for times Lawrie...support are called 1973 I think. Oh wait, found this on the KOKO website: The doors open at 9:30pm. First band is normally on at 11:30 Second band is normally on at 12:30. The night ends at 4am. 4am?! Bit past my bedtime... Aside from any personal feelings about this gig (I know some people would rather it wasn't a club night etc) I think it's a good opportunity to get the band out there to some new people- by midnight it should be pretty busy with people who probably haven't heard PRR before. Of course, I'm still hoping for another proper headline set London date later in the year too mind you...

I'm one of those non-clubby kinda people. Maybe a rock/indie vibe to the night will change my mind - round my way you have a choice between clubs that play cheesy shit like Build Me Up Buttercup and Paradise City, and clubs that play pop-flavoured R'n'B. Both utter bleuch to me, and there is no Third Way anywhere near me.
But I agree that something like this should potentially be very, very useful in garnering some new fans who might not have come across the band before, and maybe (hopefully) raise their press profile a bit too.

Excuse me, there is nothing cheesy about Paradise City. It's a club night, so it's like a normal club but with indie tunes and with a band playing at midnight. I couldn't think when else it would have been but it didn't sound right for some reason!

Bought my ticket, though having now seen that it'll only be a short set, i'm wondering if it's worth the further expense of going to London. Anyways, plenty of time to think it over.

Argh, British Sea Power are playing the same night at XOYO near Old Street tube - wanna do both, probably possible, I just don't know BSP's stagetime damnit. This could be Richard Curtis-esque in its London gallavanting-ness.

PRR are on at midnight for this yeah? You're pretty likely to make that okay.
Make sure you see at least a little of future of the left. They are an exciting band, whereas BSP are kinda boring...

Oooh Future of the Left! I would love to see them. I'm currently planning on seeing Terry Pratchett (anyone else a fan?) at the Chiswick book festival that afternoon...could I make it a Pratchett-FOTL-PRR extravaganza of a night? Could be exciting. And then there's the Southsea Fest the next day. Anyone else going to that? The line up looks amazing beyond belief, and having been last year I know it's an amazing festival - I really encourage people to go! www.southseafest.com/

I'm at Southsea with REVERE, obviously, but the whole stage we're on that day is great (Kings Theater). Hopefully I'll be able to hang around for PRR later that evening.

Yeah FOTL are cool, but I think it's a little harsh to say BSP are boring (time to shake up the usual cosy harmony of everyone liking each other's music on this forum). They've released 4 fantastically different albums ranging from the punk-y to out and out film score post-rock. Their live shows are something else (foliage, men in bear suits) and they've got a real commitment as a band to avoid boring rock cliches. What other band would have a breakdown where the singer chants "do you like my neolithic rock"? I'm not sure when BSP start though so am nervous about booking it in advance as PRR still win. I'll also hit Terry Pratchett, i think. Should be a great day... Wish I could make Southsea but I just can't.
