Fuck yeah! The studio version is a fucking choon, they've really captured the energy of the live performance we saw in Hoxton/at the Koko. Great start, bodes well for the full album!

Great stuff! It's on infinite repeat now While listening for the first time, I was wishing for some more audible guitars, but somehow that's gone now. The vocal part starting around 2:50 and the intermittent guitar (?) part give me goosebumps. All that is not bad for what I still consider to be the "worst" of the three preview songs

I'm thinking I might resist this so I don't overplay before the album...

What a track... really resisting the urge to as mhx said, stick it on infinite repeat. This album is really shaping up to be everything I'd hoped it would be.

I'm trying to resist grabbing it, I want the album to be fresh .. and it's not that long away now. Really. Right?

Fair play (I really do admire your resolve), but I feel much better about doing it this time around. With AVO, I already knew Victorious Cupid, Deus Ex Machina, Gloaming and most of Apogee before release, so that only left four tracks to really get stuck into on release day. With H&A being billed as a ten track album, even with the three many of us have heard (Fight Fire, Black Mourning and Valour) there should still be seven shiny new tracks to get stuck into come release day. Although fingers remain crossed that half of those aren't of the the keep me sane/insane variety. lol

Anyone else (the older fuckers among us) here getting shades of Genesis' Mama from some of the keyboard work?
It's a great tune, but it does feel like they're recycling vocals; there's bits that are very reminiscent of the Intention Craft, Bright Ambassadors and Victorius Cupid in there. Obviously they have a sound, and that's a good thing- I'm talking about what are near-enough identical melodies.

I know what you mean. Of the three H&A tracks, Black Mourning has got old fastest for me. I was blown away by it at Hoxton, was slightly less impressed at Koko, and now I think it sounds a bit generic...
Then again, obviously it's not generic to all of music, it's generic to PRR, and PRR's default state is awesome. So it's still a fantastic track in the grand scheme of things. And the Deus-esque breakdown towards the end is still sublime.

Anyone else (the older fuckers among us) here getting shades of Genesis' Mama from some of the keyboard work? Mmmh. Though Mama is (still) one of my favourites, I don't quite see a connection to Black Mourning. (Gosh, Mama is so good, just played it again... thanks for the hint!) It's a great tune, but it does feel like they're recycling vocals; there's bits that are very reminiscent of the Intention Craft, Bright Ambassadors and Victorius Cupid in there. Obviously they have a sound, and that's a good thing- I'm talking about what are near-enough identical melodies. Yes, I absolutely agree. And that were my thoughts already after listening to the sampler back in May: Sooo, #1 is my winner. Absolutely addictive even though I didn't like it at first (but the same was true for AVO). More of that, please! #2 sounds very promising, especially towards the end. Some of the vocal melodies in #3 remind me a little too much of The Intention Craft; but maybe that's intentional ;D

Anyone else (the older fuckers among us) here getting shades of Genesis' Mama from some of the keyboard work? Not immediately but now you mention it, it does have shades of that grimy sort of atmosphere. Especially when they add that haunting keyboard sound during the final chorus. Still totally loving the track.
