Beautiful song! Does anyone else think it sounds a bit Muse? (Not saying this is a bad thing )

Thanks for sharing! I love it even more then when I heard it played live:] I can't smell any Muse but it might change as I hear it next 20 times in row:D

Thanks for sharing! I love it even more then when I heard it played live:] I think it was quite different when played live. It was more energetic live, but the album version is more beautiful. I can't smell any Muse but it might change as I hear it next 20 times in row:D Hehe. I think it's the bass hook that triggers this Muse association for me. Just spent some time skipping through the Muse tracks, but was unsuccessful. Now back to Patriarch ;D gilthar Too bad for Microexpressions, though, I was just about to listen to them when the download was announced...

Hehe, try this:
- Play the first 3 seconds of the a-capella Gloaming... - ...then skip to Patriarch.

If only Muse sounded anything like that I might actually like them again. =P Oh yes. Most of the stuff they've done over the past year was really weird. But I was talking about the "good" Muse.

Oh yes, sir. I have been an addict! Back to topic; think I've gotta give Patriarch a few more rotations but this seems a lot like something that's gonna grow on me.

Yeah, it's different to Black Mourning, certainly. Less immediate but more groovy. Doubtless it'll be a grower.
I'm surprised the band gave the whole track away actually. Including the Youtube stuff, that's now four tracks they've essentially given people for naught. I suppose it's all good promotion, but as keen as I am to hear the new material, I'm really going to try to keep the rest of the album for release day.
Nice to see them getting good press though.

Well, allowing them to go up on YouTube isn't quite the same as giving them away...the quality is never going to be as good and I know personally that'd never stop me buying it. Esentially, people will download whatever they want at will and there's nothing that can be done to stop it- the best the bandand management can do is build excitement surrounding the release and get people excited enough to want to buy it. (People that aren't us...as I don't think we need to get much more excited!) That still leaves 6 whole tracks of unheard stuff ;D

mhx, that is a bit out there! lol That said, I was rather surprised to see I'd already racked up 43 listens of Black Mourning since getting hold of it. I was the same with Deus Ex Machina and Les Malheurs, I'm terrible for wearing tracks out too quickly. Although I think I've met my match.
