I've just been attacked by a screaming yellowish forum design... that fortunately vanished after logging in. I hope this is not supposed to replace the current design. As good as this theme looks on the official myspace, as much does it hurt my eyes here in the forum. I somehow liked the fact that the forum design was rather subtle and not linked to any of PRR's releases. Just my thoughts. Sorry to whoever came up with the new design...

It is the new forum design, sorry about the yellow, obviously I wasn't the one to choose the colour scheme.
If you prefer the old themes, they are all available in your user profile, just go into there to get the old ones, there's a drop down menu- as a general policy, the forum design gets updated every time the band produces new artwork but we never make it so you can't use the old ones if you prefer.
(FYI, the previous forum design was in fact linked to artwork that was used by the band around the time of the release of Deus.)
EDIT: The yellow has now been slightly toned down. The logo at the top will definately be staying, I'm open to anyones thoughts about the rest of it- if the consensus is the rest of the yellow totally needs to go then we can go with that but without any colour accent it looks a little bland.

I like this new H&A theme - nice work. EDIT - actually, my one suggestion for change would be that we revert to the white star/yellow star (or similar) system to tell you if there are new posts in a thread or not. The 'folder/new' icons aren't as instantly distinguishable for me. But it's no biggie, and if we can't change that for any reason - or if the majority like these 'folder' icons - then that's fine with me.

It is the new forum design, sorry about the yellow, obviously I wasn't the one to choose the colour scheme. I don't have a problem with either black or yellow, but the yellow in this design is just completely distracting... If you prefer the old themes, they are all available in your user profile, just go into there to get the old ones, there's a drop down menu- as a general policy, the forum design gets updated every time the band produces new artwork but we never make it so you can't use the old ones if you prefer. Phew! I didn't know this was possible, so thanks for enlightening me! (FYI, the previous forum design was in fact linked to artwork that was used by the band around the time of the release of Deus.) Interesting, that never occurred to me. However, it is/was a very pleasant and suitable theme.

Hehe, so it seems I saw the design when it wasn't finished. It looks a hell of a lot better without these big yellow bars everywhere. ;D
Now, my only suggestion would be to make the box surrounding a quote a bit darker, if that's possible.

*thumbs up* As well as being more functional, the stars actually fit in better with the whole yellow theme and WW2/Cold War-era Russian style fonts/images that PRR are putting out there for Hammer And Anvil. I like it.

Just had a look- not possible with the proboards options I'm afraid., quotes are automatically just the same colour as borders.

Could be helped by directly editing the CSS and the function that generates a new table (the quote box) when you click "quote". But I doubt that's actually worth the effort. ^^ Looks fine.

Just one more thing: Does the background of the "FAN FORUM" part of the logo image deliberately use a more greenish yellow (#f9f10e) than the rest of the image (#ffed00)?

No, obviously that was not purposeful. I knew about it but was going to come back to it when I had slightly more time. Thanks for the colour reference though.
EDIT: Done.

EDIT: Not as sorted as I though but I'm aware of it and will change it when I can. Ok and sorry, didn't mean to hurry you If that helps, here's a "fixed" version: zrox.org/prr_header_01.pngEdit: You've obviously been faster Thanks a bunch!

The font in the header is kinda awful The yellow is great on the album but doesn't really work online sadly. I'll be keeping the Deus theme.

OK. So, as the general consensus is that the yellow is impractical for the forum, I decided to try a more functional new design. I hope this one is more to people's liking- as much as I want a new design, to reflect the band's current image, the last thing I want to do is scare new members away with yellow.
It's listed as 'Band B&W' in the drop down menu and I hope it's a little more popular. Obviously, if you still don't like it, as before the old skins are all there and if you became particularly attached to the yellow or like things a little more colourful, it is still there too, called 'Hammer & Anvil.'

How does the B&W one reflect the bands current image? Personally, I prefer "lighter" themes, so I use the proboards default...Out of the dark ones, the B&W one looks the most professional, and I like the Cautionary one the most.
