I don't know as there's a way to frame it that doesn't make it an inappropriate question tbh.

I think you're right. It's kinda crossing the line from innocent interview, to paparazzi...

Definitely don't ask about band members leaving/being fired. I don't think this could possibly ever happen without the band ending altogether. Plus it's a sore subject for PRR. What you could ask about is future plans. When I spoke to him, Jon was quite candid that he has solo projects that he's working on, but I decided not push him on how much that would be taking away from rather than complementing future PRR work. It is clear that there will be a biggish tour next year. You could ask if they see themselves bringing out album 4 in 2011 or 2012. They'll probably say they have no long term plans, so it might not be worth it. You could ask how much success in the traditional sense of the term matters to them, that might be an interesting and legitimate question. Or you could ask whether they consider themselves successful by their own standards. Would they rather be playing stadiums? I imagine the answer is no. I think there could be some interesting questions in that direction, but definitely be careful. Whatever you do don't make it sound like you expect the band to disintegrate at ay moment, and don't suggest that there are internal problems, because there definitely aren't.

Oh, I certainly don't think there are any! I don't want there to be, either, of course. But sticky did raise a point about them heading down the electronic route... I was thinking of asking about potential solo projects, and whether they'd head further in the electronic route (although, I expect a "we don't know what the future holds!" answer here), and if we'll ever see Jamie playing a keytar (guitar shaped portable keyboard/synth)!
Definetly don't want to annoy/pee them off, so I'll stay away from the matter...

... if we'll ever see Jamie playing a keytar (guitar shaped portable keyboard/synth) ... I wouldn't ask these questions. A question about that keytar is like asking if he likes to play trumpet. Maybe you should start a new thread about your interview. Then we can help you to find serious questions.

Valour is emerging as a personal favourite for me. The pure techno beat intro might need to grow on me, but when the chorus kicks in... oh man!
Never Divide is a leader of the pack too.

I love Last Man. Bit of a favourite that.

It's my first interview, so I have already decided to keep it serious... I guess this is how my brain works at midnight (lame jokes and all)! And, yes, I was thinking of doing that. The PR guy said he'd organise something with me, but he hasn't gotten back to me

Mine changes daily! Today I'm having a Fight Fire day... You? Fight Fire? ;D Honestly, I don't have a clear favourite. Probably my least favourite song on the album is Black Mourning. It's still a killer song, I'm liking in much more than when I heard it first on the sampler. As a single song, I think Fight Fire is still my favourite. Gosh, there just aren't any bits on this album that I dislike...

Oh, Fight Fire and Open Insurrection are my clear favourites. The others all swap about for tunes I'm loving. Those two are outstanding though.

Ok, having listened to the whole album approximately 40 times now, here are my thoughts on the songs... Fight Fire [10/10]Best album opener ever. As much as I like Les Malheurs, this one easily destroys it. I still can't believe it's Tom Bellamy's child, given how boring his Deus remix was. By the way, it's such a pleasure listening to this song in the so-much-better-than-youtube quality. Black Mourning [9/10]I'm going to call it Victorious Cupid's Fate. Maybe I've overplayed this song, but I feel it lacks a bit of the aggressiveness that's inherent to all other songs on this album. Though this one is much better than VC and the second part is clearly very close to 10/10. Patriarch [9.5/10]Beautiful song, still it has all the "bits" that are somehow missing for me in Black Mourning. Last Man, Last Round [9.9/10]Man, I wasn't sure I would like this song when I heard it live in Cologne. But it's an absolutely massive tune. I'm pretty sure I'll love it next time they play it. I think this song is the essence of H&A. Valour [9.8/10]I really liked the original name of the song much better, but well, it's a superb song. Over The Top [9.8/10]Whoa. One of the best vocal performances of Jon I've heard, and I usually prefer Chloƫ's vocals by far. And the guitar is just wow. Great song. Never Divide [9.7/10]This one's strange. I always think it's the most redundant song on this album. However, whenever I listen to it, I really enjoy it. Weird. The first couple of seconds are probably the weakest part of the whole album, though. Blitzkrieg / Open Insurrection / Armistice [10/10]Yes, this is actually one giant three part song. Maybe if they had just labeled it that way on the package, some of the old progheads might have liked it. The link between Blitzkrieg and OI is obvious and Armistice is just the counterpart to OI (i.e. without OI, Armistice would probably only be a 9/10). Blitzkrieg and Armistice both grew immensely on me. (Blitzkrieg was the first song I listened to and I skipped it after two minutes. Just don't ask me why.) Oh, and both Blitzkrieg and OI are way too short. Blitzkrieg stops right at its climax and OI could have gone on to the length of Ambassadors without becoming boring.

Blitzkrieg is mounting a challenge to Never Divide for my current favourite. The pop goodness of ND is *just* beating the electronic destruction of Blitzkrieg still, but it's close! The fact that they're next to each other in the tracklisting is doing my CD no favours: the same area of the disc must keep getting lasered over and over again...
Still loving every song though, this record is the musical version of Total Football - every song can do everything pretty damn well!

I still can't believe it's Tom Bellamy's child, given how boring his Deus remix was. check out the first two Cooper Temple Clause albums. That was Toms bands and I can hear a fair bit of that in this. Wasn't there a quote from Jon that said his ambitions initially were to be 'The Cooper Temple Floyd'? Might be a myth... good one though.
