Yep, I love it and I'm not even normally a remix person; this was superbly done.

Sorry chaps, where oh where has my Vicki Cupid gone....never thought I say this bout anything PRR, but the remix is err, well just sodding horrid....the only hope is that JOn was seeking slight relief from studio burn out.....what a ruddy shame

Ok...what I reckon is, its not something particularly for the PRR fans. I love it, but only because I'm a fan of electro music in general, I certainly dont think its PRR kind of material... But then, surely thats what a remix is? I can see why people wont like it, my ma won't like it for one and shes as much of a huge PRR fan as me...but I dont think its a reflection on the new album in the way that maybe Deus Ex Machina is...bascially,I guess I'm saying I wouldn't worry if you don't like it.

I'm REALLY digging this.
I think I've vocally said I love the electronic elements coming to the fore, and while I don't want the album to have this kind of stuff on it as such I think it's really interesting to hear these versions.

agreed. Obviously the main version is better, but it is interesting to hear a different version. I love the chopped up vocals and the way the main riff is done...also the way Jon's low voice comes accross at various points, esp the end. He's a really talentd DJ that guy....Mike don't despair, your Vicky Cupid hasn't gone anywhere, it's just found it's long lost brother!

[flippancy mode] So don't listen to it then... [/flippancy mode] In all seriousness, it really doesn't matter what people think of the VC remix (I quite like it, for the record) - it's just the band kindly tossing us hungry folks a bone in the wait for Album #2, and isn't intended to be a major part in the PRR canon. It's a win-win situation: if you like it, then bully for you; if you don't, don't worry about it, it's a B-side and the follow up to The Dark Third is on the way... er, at some point, but you get what I'm saying... ;D

I really like both versions of Victorious Cupid, but I'm into electronica so I guess it's natural. I'm also a sucker for remixes, that's me. I liked them both from the first listening. I just wish that the CD will arrive soon! But I must say that I hope to hear more stuff like Deus Ex Machina - that song I just love!! - on PRR's new album. It's dead exciting to wait and wait.... I like suspence ;D
