OK, now some anonymous wikipedian has identified the live album's release date more precisely as 20th of June. A month from today. I really do hate to take that seriously, but...it's tempting. Especially as the guy who put it in has made loads of edits to the NEARfest page as well...

Especially as the guy who put it in has made loads of edits to the NEARfest page as well... Ha ha, would be nice, but no chance of that IMO. Even on an indie label like Superball which doesn't have the marketing budgets of the majors, any record company worth its salt wouldn't release an album without at least 4 weeks' notice from an official announcement of the release date (and subsequent publicity/viral marketing campaign that lasts up to and beyond the release date). Superball and/or the band would have to make some sort of official noise this week at the very latest, and there's been nothing suggesting that's going to happen - if anything, all the signs we've had (I know that both you and I have spoken to the band about this, as well as all the other people who have more access to them than we do saying the same thing) point to the album not being finished yet, much less being 4 weeks from release! As much as I think everyone would like to see Album #2 arrive as soon as possible, it's likely that it won't be ready for release until maybe the last quarter of the year, and almost certainly not by the end of June...

When's the next Nearfest? Perhaps it's just for that. Superball wouldn't have to be putting this out in theory, they shouldn't own rights to the back catalogue.
scat, this date appears to refer to the rumoured live album, not the next album proper.

No, my bad, should have made it clearer...yeah this is the NEARfest one I'm talking about, which our wikipedia friend says will be released on NEARfest records. I reckon it's possible, but could also easily be substanceless conjecture. Fingers crossed (a common action to take in matters relating to PRR...)
