I think twdy are really dull personally, I'm a massive post rock fan but they do nothing for me.
I'm listening to the astronaut dismantles hal so by amplifier. Stunning.

The Pineapple Thief followed by Opeth sounds like heaven to me - have a great time ! Or hell if I miss the bus or fail to get tickets for any of the two... And there's Jeff Beck playing at this year's Montreal Jazzfest.. I have to pay the tickets to both the TPT and Jeff Beck gig for my girlfriend as well... that's over 300$ excluding merch... ... Currently listening to the new Gazpacho, it's pure bliss, just like Night. EDIT: Just bought another Tom Waits album, my third this month...

Currently I'm listening to one of the most important bands in progressive rock: Yes.

I just listened to In Utero by Nirvana because it's been too long, and now I'm listening to Angel Dust by Faith No More because it's AWESOME. Today is 90s rock day (until I put something else on...!)

I just discovered Panopticon by Isis.
Fuck my arse, how have I not found this band before?! Just what I was looking for. Well, I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals (I like the occasional scream - see The Grudge by Tool - but not metal screams), but the music is incredible.

Get in the absance of truth. There's more melodic vocals on that record, although everything Isis have done is outstanding.

I'm pretty sure the vocals were cleaner on most of Panopticon, but In The Absence Of Truth is even more mind-blowing. Wavering Radiant comes out on my B-Day

Without going back and comparing song by song, I can fairly confidently say you're wrong. They toned down the heavy on ITAOT in all aspects. I mean, it's still heavy, but they didn't exactly make another Mosquito Control.
Wavering Radiant is AMAZING.

Maybe I'm only judging based on In Fiction which has been stuck in my head most of the time for a year now...
Trying to avoid spoiling the whole Wavering Radiant until I have a physical copy.

What? It's out already? So what's the deal with this...I haven't followed it nearly closely enough....are there any new tracks, or just old stuff live? And if there aren't new tracks, aren't there supposed to be some coming pretty soon or what?

It's leaked. I think it's out next week. There's no proper new stuff, but a couple of the 'interlude' pieces they did on the last tour are there. There's a DVD with a documentary and some live video as weekll.

at the moment, I'm listening to Symphony X. who are the epitome of prog metal. and I think I've made my feelings clear that Prog=rubbish. however, man, they can shrrrrrrred!
other than that, I'm agreeing with the ISIS love.
