Listening to the teaser mp3 that you get with the pre-order of 65daysofstatic's new album, We Were Exploding Anyway. Oh my Jesus Christ monkeyballs, it sounds absolutely immense: if this is representative of what the new album is going to sound like then it's going to blow the already excellent One Time For All Time out of the water as the best 65dos album! SOOO excited about this record now!

Mastodon anyone? Crack the Skye is a fantastic album. Way too far into the prog/metal bracket for me I'm afraid, I'm soft when it comes to those two things, I'm an indie kid at heart... Haha, fair enough. It's quite heavy but not compared to Leviathan or (I hear) Blood Mountain. I recently discovered Bleed by Meshuggah. I'm not going to lie, this song completely mesmerises me. It may be essentially a one riff song but the drumming is absolutely incredible and there are enough subtle changes and variations in the rhythm to keep it interesting for 8 minutes. It's impressive that they can play it in time.

Have slightly fallen for The National since their new one came out, that and Foals are battling it out for all my stereo time!

It's impressive that they can play it in time. They use programmed drums on the record, and play to a click live. The drummer is pretty impressive though.

The new Spocks Beard album dropped through my letter box this morning, and aside from the (OMG WOW NEW PRR SAMPLER) it's been all I've listened to all day. I wasn't a big fan of their last album, but this new one is far more majestic and ambitious. There's a good deal of old Beard melody here. The first track sets the tone beautifully with Edge of the In-Between and whilst the rest are by no means weak, it's the final 2 tracks, The Man Behind The Curtain and Jaws Of Heaven which really make this album their best since Snow. The orchestral leanings in Whole Again (part 4 of Jaws of Heaven) absolutely steal the show. A seriously impressive album, and given the fact that it's been directly funded by the fans, a fitting result. Overall it's been a great day for music

It's good stuff, that just explains why they keep so solidly in time! It's programmed from samples of his kit by him though.

as this topic seems to wither I'll try to move it forward Last month brought us H&A and I've listened it more than 200 times already but now it's being played 'only' around 10 times a week ;D what I'm heading to is that I felt in love with Peter Gabriel DVD Growing up Live. What are your opinions about him and his music? the best one for me is Sky Blue: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSzZEj-jjF0

what I'm heading to is that I felt in love with Peter Gabriel DVD Growing up Live. What are your opinions about him and his music? Exceptional songwriter and singer. I just love his voice and his albums are getting better and better. Unfortunately, they're also getting rarer and rarer. I predict the next (and last) album to be released in 2016.

Karnivool - Themata
Not a brand new album, but I've just gotten back to it and it's better than ever.
