Kat Flint - Go Faster Stripes

Evening all,

So I've been working on making a music video for the last couple of weeks, filming last week and editing since. Exciting times, it can now be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5bQZuv6vhk
It was finally finished at about 5am this morning after some heavy editing sessions! I'm REALLY proud of it, it's the first video I've had this much involvement in (cameras, lights and editing mostly). It's not perfect, the framing is slightly off in places (camera LCD doesn't show the whole frame ) but it's kinda charming for that I think. Ditto the imperfections in the stop-motion stuff, but it fits with the songs (and Kats) vibe.
That's what I'm sticking too.

So, this is the video for 'Go Faster Stripes' by female singer/songwriter/storyteller Kat Flint. Dunno how many of you that appeals too but let me assure you it's not normally my kind of thing either, however Kats stuff is stunning. This is the first single from her forthcoming album 'Dirty Birds' which will be the first album put out by Albino Recordings, also home to REVERE and Paw Paw. The single should have been out on December 17th on iTunes but isn't for some reason. It will be there soon though, if anyone cares I'll post up as soon as I know it's there. It's been posted on a few blogs as a 96kbs mp3 though...

Good job with the video. The bit where the hats moved around the group was good, and what I think was a random face mask on one bloke during that bit was funny: intentionally, I hope!

Can't say I cared for the music (bit wussy and sparse for me), but that's not your department, and that's a matter of taste anyway.

It was intentionally funny yeah! We asked if anyone would be willing to put it on hoping it'd be him that said yes!

Fair 'nuff. Not the kind of thing I'd expect many people here to be into the tune but she's a favourite artist of mine as it happens!

Sorry to bump this extremely old thread, but Ryan, were you involved with that Paw Paw band you mentioned in your original post? I had a listen, and quite liked what I heard - but can't find any trace of them online other than their outdated myspace page and one sentence on last.fm on their shared band page name....

No, afraid not.
As far as I'm aware they weren't an active band for very long after it was first released. They all live in different countries and stuff now, I don't think they'll do much in the future...
They were active before havin a presence on every site going was happening so that might well be all you find sadly.

Ah ok. Yeah I guessed that they didn't exist very long based on their myspace and whatnot. Might try and see if the members went onto anything.

Do you know if they ever did an ep or album?

Just the single as I'm aware.
I know Eve didnt release anything post that, not sure about the others.
