Everything is up in the air at the moment. I've been told it's gunna be on sale for the November tour, possibly as a limited(ish) print run. They are working on artwork literally as I type, there's some cool ideas kicking about but it all comes back to £$£$.
A new video is being filmed also literally as I type.
The only reason there are no details out of 'official' channels is because there is nothing confirmed. The projected release dates and stuff have all come from me on best guesses. There's lots of ideas, and nothing is final yet. The whole band want to get this bugger out now, but under the right circumstances. They've worked two years on this album, so there's no point just whacking some mp3s online and being done with it! I know it's frustrating, believe me I know, but it is totally worth it. If I could send everyone the album half the world would have it by now!

well, better to put it out the best way possible, rather than rush it.
But if it's available at shows in November, that's great for those headed to those shows, but for someone who won't be able to like myself, halfway across the planet, I'm not sure how much that helps.
Perhaps if they print enough of them, they will be able to accept a direct-order from fans online, like via their website or something.
Either way, once those shows happen next month, we should know more about it by then.

I would assume if they sell it at shows they'll sell it online. If not we'll work out a way to get you one dude.
Hopefully they'll get all the details out once the artwork is finalised!

I hope so. Thanks.
well..Revere will have some competition for debut album of the year, as I finally got to hear the debut LP from California-based Local Natives, who were formerly known as "Cavil at Rest."
I heard about Revere and them around the same time..late 2006 I think. And have been waiting/looking fwd to both of their debut albums since.
Local Natives album "Gorilla Manor" is an excellent record. Not a bad song on it, including a really great Talking Heads cover.
I hope "Hey! Selim" follows suit so I will have a hard time deciding.

Hear some tunes here: myspace.com/reverelondonThen come to a date on the November mini-'tour': 10 Nov 2009 - tbc, Bristol (it's booked, I just don't know the venue yet. Will update) 12 Nov 2009 - The Freebutt, Brighton 13 Nov 2009 - Plug’N’Play, Reading ( tickets14 Nov 2009 - The Relentless Garage, London ( tickets) We're working to make the Garage gig a bit special, it'll be the biggest REVERE full-band headline show yet! Here's a poster for that one: And a Facebook event: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=285243210386Hopefully see some friendly faces there!! Oh, and the album is finally finished! It's currently being held up by artwork designs. There's some ideas kicking around to make it a bit special. After two years of work on it it'd be silly to rush it out, as much as I might want to just let everyone hear it now. I have a projected release date but I feel like I've led so many people on by repeating them I'm not gunna this time. Believe me when I say the band want it out though, it won't be held up any longer than totally needed to get it right.

There's gunna be a free download with 3 or 4 tracks from the record around the time of the tour. I don't know what tracks yet though. I've got cheaper tickets for the Garage gig. £7 each. Saves you booking fee/postage for online sales or £2 on the door. Let me know if you want one and I can save it for you. Then meet you outside before the gig to complete the sale

Tracklisting is kicking about, artwork isn't finshed yet. There no news because no one knows how to release it. The industry is dying in the slowest way it is possible to and revere are trying to avoid getting totally fucked by it. There's ideas, rough release dates, that kind of thing. Sadly there's not THAT many people waiting for it, so they need to maximise the exposure they can get for it. Won't be this year now, I can say that.
EDIT: In fact, here's the lastest info:
So last night, we played the last show in Tom Robinson's string of showcases at Riverside Studios as part of Fresh On The Net, and what a great night! Unfortunately, Nathaniel our trumpet player is somewhere up a mountain so we were without trumpet but the audience dig a great job of singing all the trumpet lines for us. Nice one guys! Also we were on a bill with the ever effervescent Gabby Young & Other Animals who you will probably know from our two stints at The Union Chapel. Gabby has also applied her voice to several of the album tracks.
Anyway, while we send out promos of the album around various names in the industry, we have decided that we would like to offer you the opportunity to DOWNLOAD UP TO 3 TRACKS OFF THE ALBUM ABSOLUTELY FREE. We will be handing out a web address and download codes at all of our upcoming shows in November, kicking off with Bristol on the 10th and ending at the Garage on the 14th. We'll see you there...
The Garage show will be the last in a string of tour dates. We'll hopefully see you all there: November: 10th - Bowling Lanes, Bristol w/ Mercy Alexander 11th - Edge of The Wedge, Southsea (tbc) 12th - The Freebutt, Brighton w/ Mountain Of One 13th - Plug 'N' Play, Reading w/ A Genuine Freakshow 14th - The Relentless Garage, London w/ Air Castles & Morton Valence
As we announced in our last mail out, the album is called "Hey! Selim" and has the following 12 tracks: Forgotten Names I Can't (Forgive Myself) As The Radars Sleep Throwing Stones The Hating Book I Bet You Want Blood Things We Said The Tired And The Drowned The Escape Artist They Always Knock Twice Maybe In Time Too Many Satellites

hmm..thanks..seen this before (Fields)..hopefully next year. But these things sometimes either
a) take forever to happen. If it wasn't released until a year from now, I wouldn't be surprised
b) never gets released (the Fields example)
100Ft Snowman, One Republic, Janus, recently Kaura..even my local friends Between Two Skies, very easily could-have released their debut album, but instead what they are doing is putting together the best possible INDUSTRY DEMO they can and try and shop it around next year.
Local Natives hopefully did it the right way, by waiting and waiting for a small label to put it out and making some good contacts (their manager is also Radiohead's mgr in fact)..Water & Bodies kind of are as well after having the disappointing experience they had, as Kaddisfly by not getting a major label to sign them, they are going totally independent..low-cost low headway..
I really hope Revere put this thing out the right way, but don't allow time and $ to kill their career. I guess we'll know down the road.

I can definitivly say it will come out. I can say with a fair degree of confidence it won't take another year. You never know obviously, but it's what no one wants. They will put it out themselves if that's what has to happen.

Me again (obviously!). REVERE are giving away some downloads of tracks from the record at the moment, in advance of a release next year. You've gotta get to a gig to get a code to sign up but anyone interested can send me an e-mail address and I can invite you in We've put together some really cool .pdf booklets for each track too. Well... I think they rare pretty cool anyway! Also, gig tomorrow (13th) in Reading with the mighty A Genuine Freakshow & then 14th at The Flowerpot in Kentish Town. We're discussion options for putting together some kind of advance sale of the record and some cool extras at the moment ('we' because I'll be project managing it if it happens). Nothing definite yet but rest assured we are working on the best way to get this out to people ASAP.
