(I typed this a couple of weeks ago and put it other palces, but since then REVERE have been confirmed as playing at Glastonbury Festival. Not sure what stage or when yet but needless to say, I'll be blagging along!) Nice...no ticket day stress for you then on Sunday- very jealous dammit

Yeah, hopefully. Just waiting to see how many passes they get really. There's 8 of them, plus the backing singer I expect, then two crew, then me. Fingers crossed.

I'm not sure I'd call them "Post Rock" exactly..but more acoustic-driven and Chamber-Pop/Rock..somewhat in the vein of bands like The Dear Hunter, Anathallo, and Margot and the Nuclear So and So's.
I really like them..been wondering what kind of status their debut LP might be at recently.

Yeah, I wouldn't say straight up post rock but that's where most of their influence comes from, and the quiet to loud build up type dynamic of post rock is typical of most of their songs. I see it as post rock taken somewhere new.
The bones for the record were recorded a few weeks ago in Scotland. All the basic bits for 12 tracks done live. Just overdubs and things to go. Don't think Stephens put any real vocals down yet either. I know Jon was in doing guitar overdubs the other day. I think the plan is to have all the recording done within about a month. Dave (producer) is mixing as they go along at the moment, it sounds amazing! There's five songs on there that haven't really been aired yet and the couple I've heard are outstanding.

I won't stop plugging this band, so here's more bumping with recent stuff. We did the last festival of the summer the other weekend (Standon Calling) and fought against good weather to pack the tent out, which was a great way to end things. I've done three with them and they've got better at each. Recently I've been editing some video I'm pretty proud of. I was working with a camera crew that isn't my own for this one and was a bit disappointed with the footage I got back, so this stuff is frustrating because i don't think it's as good as it could be really. That said it's getting good responses and things and I'm pleased with what I've done with it, so here's two tracks from a full band acoustic gig at Islingtons Union Chapel: Forgotten Names / Find A Safe Place - uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SVe5BH6t36cOne Of Our Pilots Is Safe - uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xwNt0z1UrR0If you like that there's more going up over the next few weeks so keep checking. There's a single for The Escape Artist coming out at the end of October, the demo version of that tune is on myspace. I don't know what's on the b-sides yet, but I've seen the video and it's fantastic. Much like the last one it's more of a short film with the song-soundtracking it than a normal pop promo, and it's seven and a half minutes long. Not expecting MTV to come knocking. BUT we'll be launching the single and premiering the video at Cargo in London on October 22nd. There's a massive screen so we'll be showing the video then doing a full projection set afterwards (including a cut-up reedited version of the video for the visuals). We should also be selling the single on CD & on DVD (were putting that together at the moment, should include interviews, live footage and on set photos). If anyone's about it'd be lovely to see yous I think that's it for now, work is still (...) continuing on the album but it's getting there, and sounding amazing. We're prepping for the next single and video as well, which will be co-produced by the two groups I work with (Albino Films & MenWithTheMovieCamera) and I'll be doing Director of Photography, Camera Ops and Editing for. Tres exciting. There's other gigs coming up, listed on myspace and things too.

It's like Muse mixed with Radiohead. And I like it. The demo tracks on their Myspace were merely interesting, but not quite good enough. And then I checked out those Youtube videos posted above, and those are rather cool. Indeed, they are memorable tunes.

They get the muse thing all the time, I can't hear it myself to be honest. Well not anymore, there's an old version of one song whos riff is a dead ringer for New Born ('One of our pilots is safe' in fact, doesn't sound like that now!). I don't think the demos capture the intensity of it live, which is a problem for most bands really. Skin comes closest but it's not a demo, it was a proper recording done for a single. It's why I try and put the live videos out first really, not because it's stuff I've done, but the recordings are closer to what they sound like to me. I only heard a rough mix of one tune from the album so far and it sounded phat, so fingers crossed for the rest of it! Oh and there have been two more videos go live since that last post, both acoustic from Union Chapel. I'm sure if you'd like to see them you'll find them easily enough

watching these videos now..nice stuff..just would go for knowing where they're at as far at with putting out their debut LP..sometime in 2009 perhaps?
I have noticed some of the Oceansize fans on their forum into these guys as well. Maybe it's some of the same folks here?

Yup, sometime in '09. I'd guess at the first third, but I don't know how much that's even been discussed yet. 'The Escape Artist' is being released as a single on November 3rd (I think, around then) onto iTunes, along with its (amazing) video and there should be a b-side with it, but it's not been decided what what I don't think. I've heard the final mix/master of 'The Escape Artist' now and it sounds amazing, the strings are beautiful. I think recording is almost all done now, I know Stephen's still doing a few vocals and there's a couple of little overdubs, but last time I was in the studio it was really getting there. I've heard really rough mixes and it'll be worth the wait. I'm Ryan on the Oceansize board as well The strong connection I have to the band means I'll plug away anywhere I can!

they just posted a new blog about some thing. blogs.myspace.com/reverelondonedit: this read as if the debut album was called "As the Radars Sleep" but now re-reading it, it's just the next single. Hopefully the details on the album will be announced soon as well.

Yeah, that's not the title of the album. The single should be out next month, it's a great tune. I should be putting some video up of that 6music session sooooooon.
I know what the title of the album MIGHT be, but some of the band aren't convinced yet so I'm keeping quiet!
I can tell you some stuff. Like all the recording is totally done. They've done (I think) 13 tracks but at least one isn't going on the album, it's being held back for a re-write. They are currently looking for someone to mix it all and are talking to some pretty cool people about it. I'm not sure what else I might know that I've not shared before really. The aim is to get it out as soon as possible. There are discussions going on about just what the best way to release it is Hopefully it shouldn't be toooo much longer. It better not be anyway!

they should do what many bands are doing. Release it digitally, and then later as a hardcopy.
