Am I blind or is there not a shop that sells this release? Seriously, I cannot find it.... This is seriously strange. I ordered my copy from a small mailorder in Germany on 2008-08-20, but indeed they don't seem to sell it anymore. Which reminds me of gilthar telling me in Cologne that it was a limited edition of 1000, which I hadn't heard about before. Also, upon my searches for PRR related things, this keeps popping up. Anyone know what it is? This looks to me like a total rip-off. This is the site of the "publisher". I guess reading that is already enough If not, I would suspect the "book" in question to be an automatically generated print of wikepedia entries for the PRR albums. At least, that's what the except printed on the Amazon site suggests: it's a word-by-word copy of the wikipedia page for TDT.

BA, I refuse to believe you've been to 30 gigs. I challenge you to list them. I think I've been to 6 or 7 but I don't think I can remember even that measly sum. OK so it's 29, I miscounted slightly. But I'll live with Scala as number 30...sorry for the lengthy post but you did ask.... 1) January 2006 - Camden Barfly, London. Acoustic & electric sets. [...] 29)September 2010 - Koko, Club NME Holy f***ing ****!!! *faints* 30 is just awesome. You have my most sincere appreciation! (I'm right now torn between going to gig(s) in Germany and making Scala my #10...)

Nein I have a feeling there will be a short UK tour at the end of november, and a longer EU/UK one in the spring next year. I maybe talking rubbish, mind. I think they're hoping to get out to EU on a longer jaunt this year, and as we know Scala to be an 'end of tour' special, I'd imagine all the dates will be end of Nov/early Dec. Just speculation mind you... I'd really like to get out to Europe but I'm going to Barbados for a wedding mid-November...I've a horrible feeling it's going to clash so I'm just glad I've found a way to get to the Scala. (Yes..another wedding, the end of 2010 for me is mostly punctuated by weddings.) From what I've heard last night (and my brains may just again fool me), I think there are four gigs scheduled in Germany for November. The tour is supposed to be a short one with the "final" being the Scala gig. And there are plans to have another short tour early next year.

Haha, you got me wrong. It's just that many people regard Fight Fire pretty weak. Hehe, you don't have to tell me. But fortunately a lot of those people start to recognise just how brilliant this song is. And of course I will attend as many gigs as possible. Last night I was there on my own because 1) I only just moved to Cologne and 2) I don't know ANY prog fans at all. Well, you don't need to be a prog fan to like PRR. To be honest, AVO was like a brainwash for my prog-infiltrated head. I regard a lot of "classic" prog albums that I used to like as ridiculous since about the time AVO came out. That's not to say that I don't like "prog" anymore, it's just that a big lot of prog bands are not progressive at all. PRR, however, are probably the most progressive band I know and Fight Fire (yeah, yeah, I know) is probably the best example for this. I was the air-drumming and dancing maniac in the front row. Black Wacken t-shirt, if anyone recalls Yeah, I recall the shirt, but not the face (can I blame the vodka again?)... I was the guy with this shirt standing probably not too far away from you.

That said, the European audiences have alwaysbeen very big on PRR's prog side, I think (but I'm not certain) they may be releasing different singles in Europe and the UK from H&A. So I wonder if Ambassadors will stay in the Europe sets and potentially not so much in the UK. As I wrote above, I wouldn't mind to see Ambassadors gone. However, I kinda like when bands with a couple of albums play a good mix of their stuff, so I'm happy if they keep a bit of TDT (maybe Twyncyn and one other variable song). Also...so,we've got one track down as Patriarch I wonder what the other new one they played is...any clues anybody? Judging by past experiences, I wouldn't be surprised if those 5 are our lot when it comes to the new stuff live- there are tracks off both the other 2 albums that never really made it into the set. I don't think they'll scrap Armistice. I guess they currently leave it off to have yet another real killer for their official tour. ;D

Track 7 is 'Patriarch'. this is the song Chloe is playing guitar on now. Thanks! So I can definitely add Patriarch to my favourites list.

Huh, that's an interesting set, nice to see a bunch of H&A tracks there, although it looks like Vicki Cupid and Apogee have bit the dust now. I wonder if we'll ever see them or Gloaming again...? And there's still, what, a good 25mins of TDT material that just...won't...go... As far as I'm concerned, I don't really care much about VC not being played live. I'd rather like to see Apogee or Gloaming again (or maybe even Bloodless on a few gigs). About TDT, as much as I like Ambassadors, it makes up for almost 20% of their set time. And as long as they don't start playing slightly longer gigs, I absolutely wouldn't mind 2-3 other (maybe even different ones between sets) songs instead. Interesting they don't need a bass on track 7...did it sound tinny at all? Or did they put the bass on the backing track? My bad memory makes me want to drive to Paris instantly... There were quieter parts in that song that sounded like they could use some bass, but the chorus was huge as usual. I don't think I heard a bass other than the synth on that song. Do you remember anything about track 5? Yes. I seem to remember that the first part didn't really appeal to me, maybe because it was almost exclusively vocals. Sounds a bit strange, as I absolutely adore their vocals, but from where I was standing at the venue, the vocals sounded a bit strange (with reference to known songs on other gigs) and the whole first part was quite a weird experience. I think by the time the sound became a little fuller I was ok with the song. I'm very curious to hear the studio version.

Add one German to that list. How cool! Welcome to the board, then! Will I meet you on the "real" tour later this year? Until last night I loved PRR. Now I completely adore them. Never experienced such a friendly band that's up for some chatting, signing and celebrating with the fans after their gig. So yeah, what I've heard from Hammer & Anvil sounds really promising. Even Fight Fire was great live. Haven't heard it in full length before so I can't judge how well it's gonna grow on me... "Even" Fight Fire Of course!!! ;D Ok, you're talking to an addict...

Ok, here's an attempt at a setlist of the Cologne show. Please don't bash me if I missed something, I blame it on the vodka gilthar brought for Paul's birthday ;D 1. Les Malheurs 2. Black Mourning 3. Valour 4. Twyncyn 5. Last Man, Last Stand (thanks ryan!) *new song* 6. Deus 7. Patriarch (thanks sticky!) *new song* 8. Fight Fire (I can't stop saying how mind-blowing this song is, especially live) 9. AVO --- A. Ambassadors B. Arrival/Intention Craft IIRC, (7) was the song with Chloƫ on (a 3rd electric) guitar. It was quite interesting to see that for the first half of the song it looked like she was playing her bass lines on the guitar. With the Koko gig as my new reference regarding sound quality, I have to say that the sound in Cologne was probably the "worst" I've heard so far from PRR, but I'm sure that was totally to blame on the concrete nature of the venue. (The sound was still awesome compared to most gigs of other bands I've seen this year.) Oh, and a german fan brought a nice birthday cake for Paul...

I'm listening to the three new songs all the time. Can't wait to hear more. Hey, I was just talking to Ryan and gilthar last night about whether there were any other active members from Poland or Germany on this forum... looks like there's at least another one from Germany! Where have you been yesterday? We've enjoyed a(nother) fantastic gig with two brand new songs (and I'm totally in love with one of them already). I'll try to come up with a setlist in the other thread.

First is Blitzkrieg, then ?, then Patriarch, then Black Mourning, then ?, then Armistice. The two new mystery snippets sound great to me, as small as they are. Cool, I was secretly hoping for the last one to be Armistice! Wow, nice little find- great sampler! I LOVE that bit from Blitzkrieg, it's the sample they've been using to start their live sets for the last year or so, so I'm glad to hear it's been incorporated. Yeah, that intro immediately conjured up those warm feelings this sample used to give me in the beginning of the past gigs. Actually, I've got to say, apart from that it's the last two snippets I'm loving the most- it's those melodies that get me every time! The Black Mourning 'down, down, down, gets more a more addictive...though it is my Victorious Cupid of the album, I've heard it so much now it'll probably get over a few times. Black Mourning has really grown on me since I've heard it full-length and this is mainly due to the last half of the song. It's really like a "Best-of-PRR" song. It's really hard to tell too much from such short little snippets mind you. Totally agree. Thanks for trying, though!

So, there's this other preview snippet here: www.egofm.de/default.aspx?ID=7181&showNews=828159I'd say it contains parts of five new songs, the third one being Black Mourning. Does anyone who has heard the radio stream know some of the other four songs? According to what was written before in this thread, it seems to start off with the intro to Blitzkrieg... Anyway, what do you think of the other four snippets? The first and last snippets sound very promising (to me at least), the second one seems to be quite ok as well. It's only the fourth one that I can't get into, it sounds bit too ordinary to me. Well, that judgement is based on approximately 4% of the song, so I'm hopefully wrong ;D

great! I will be with a friend of mine, so there will be at last 4 of us! 6, I'll bring two friends. (One of them has only listened to his first couple of PRR songs about 2 weeks ago ;D)

These mini tour gigs are becoming more and more interesting. Quoting Chloƫ's Twitter:
I'm wondering whether that's going to be a third electric guitar or an acoustic one. *surprise*
