Nice one - that's a pretty special double-tour you've got lined up there! Hopefully see you at both!

Doesn't seem unlikely to me. They seem to commission DVDs for every major gig they do, and they've definitely confirmed they're "looking into it", so I'd say it's at least 50/50. Personally, even if there is a DVD, which would be great, I'd still be looking forward to the new song more. DVDs get old pretty fast.

Not bad for a technically defunct band. Lovely news.
I especially love the phrasing of "victims of war charities".

I believe he does remixes for other bands - it's probably work on non-PRR stuff he's talking about.

Too late. Was it any good? Well, I was slightly underwhelmed. If you knew German it was fun because the guy doing the show was really praising PRR as the most influential band of all times (which is the truth, of course!), he said something like "there is no more music now that there's no more PRR" as a conclusion. Good to see these continental DJs know their stuff!

Huh, well done glithar! Astonishing that it took one of us to actually contact the label to find out about this! Lack of GC sucks, though I guess I can see how they wouldn't have wanted to do a side E!

Actually he probably meant US version, as that's the European version CD 1. ie no Willows or exact colour, but nimos and TIC instead

I'm sure the WW1/WW2 connoitations of the above would be appreciated by Jon at least, TDF! ;D But yeah, I know what you mean, I haven't been hit this hard by a band splitting up since Hope Of The States called it quits completely out of the blue in 2006. There have been other bands whose music I've liked as much who have gone their separate ways (see The Music and The Streets, as per my earlier post), but the really gut-wrenching thing with PRR and HOTS is the sense of community I felt with both bands: the fans, the music and the bands themselves always made me feel like I belonged to something, and that I felt/feel I have lost something important in my life when those bands call it a day. As corny as it seems, I've also had a mantra going round in my head today relating to the end of PRR. Not as grandiose as Binyon's poem, but the closing refrain of Empty Cans by The Streets has fitted my mood today (nearly the same mood as the end of a relationship): "It's the end of something I did not want to end, Beginning of hard times to come. But something that was not meant to be is done, And this is the start of what was." Okay, I'll leave the cheesy lyric-stealing there, but on a positive note let's hope this really is the start of something else. Chloe tweeted today that the 4 band members all intend to pursue other musical avenues, so hopefully they will provide us with some of the same magical moments PRR served up over the past 8 years with their new projects, whatever they may be. Very poignant. And it's definitely right to be looking to the future. Of all the painful breakups I've experienced, this is by far the most hopeful. I'm also starting to think about what has always been my favourite PRR lines, from the end of Intention Craft: You ease my memories too soon And now we're changing the rules I'm veering closer to you Desire Obsession and Truth One thing I've always liked about PRR's lyrics is that they allow you to interpret them as feels best to you. Right now these lines are taking on a whole new significance. Sorry if I'm being sappy here guys.

What I feel when my favourite bands go is that more important than the loss is what's left, and what will never be lost. I think this verse is appropriate, about the songs of Pure Reason Revolution
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

I'm in denial.
Soon it will be anger, bargaining and depression.

Fuck. What a scary thing. I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation. I mean, we know it can't be fully accurate, because they've got at least four shows booked before London (Nottingham, Bristol and two in Holland) so it can't be the FIRST time they're playing the dark third. If it's the last, that's gutting, but there could easily be more non-tdt shows, as mrguy says.

The wording is clearly ambiguous, no one knows which it means, maybe not even the band. But as I said before, I think it sounds unlikely that they would plan their own break up this far in advance. If they like playing as a band, then they'll presumably keep doing so, and if they don't, then they presumably wouldn't have organised this tour. My guess is they've got at least one more album and a number of tours still left in them yet, but I don't think anyone on this board can give you a definite answer.
And the tour should be october/november, according to the latest update.

I have loads of PRR dreams...some of them are not fit for public discussion (I'm kidding....but, really, they aren't) - a TDT in full show is only one of my many dreams. Another would be Golden Clothes. Though I think GC is probably better as a studio track, I don't think you could get so much of the nuance in the live show, though of course it would be epic!!
