I suppose. I'm just so used to disappointment when it comes to length of prr sets...and also I'd have thought 11 songs for prr is over an hour. The average time per track has got to be at least 6 mins, counting random pauses/fade outs etc between songs.

Also, there seem to be hints on twitter that the full set could be 19 or 20 songs - if TDT is 9 songs that leaves 10 or 11 for the non-TDT half, which is very exciting! My hopes are rising for Open Insurrection!

I'm still undecided about all bar London...depends on how my real life schedule plays out.

Cupid's always been one of my favourite songs, and I'll stand by it to the end god dammit! I don't feel many qualms about dropping AVO or Tempest, as the former I've heard too many times and the latter just doesn't appeal so much, especially as I've not heard it enough to feel like its a real PRR song. I'm surprised neither of you chaps has valour on the set though...definitely got be one of the best on H&A imo.

So ideal sets for the second half of the gig anyone? Lets say you can have seven songs plus two encore, only AVO and H&A tracks allowed, and of course Tempest if you choose. I'll say:
Victorious Cupid Les Malheurs Valour Gloaming Apogee Blitzkrieg Open Insurrection --- Fight Fire Deus

It all feels so final now no new music, tour nearly over and then this place will practically die... I've been thinking about that too, what will become of this place after the tour. All the members (to the best of my knowledge) have confirmed that they intend to remain musically active, and there's no place I'd rather be to discuss that. Who knows, with them all releasing solo stuff or joining other groups, there might actually be a lot more to talk about. lol I'm guessing it's too soon to be talking about a reunion tour/album. ;D As much as I appreciate mrguy's pessimism and sense of futility (I'm a cynic at heart), I do have to agree that there may be a place for this forum after November, as per what butler said. However, We are talking about prr here, or at least its component parts. Therefore anything that is going to happen will happen extremely slowly. I'm already firing up my endless patience engines. In other news I'm not a massive fan of Tempest, I like a lot of it but the heavy riff bit is just so out of place, it feels like it's just been crowbarred into the song because they felt there had to be a heavy guitar part somewhere. It ruins the flow. But there are some lovely bits in it, and when I say I'm not a massive fan, I mean that I wouldn't rate it one of my favourite songs of all time, like I would do for about 80% of prr's catalogue, but it's still lovely listening. Some of the unexpected chord-shifts in particular are really cool. Gaudete on the other hand is still sublime beyond belief. Don't know what it is about that song but every time I hear it I'm utterly enchanted. It's now an essential part of my Christmas experience, and I can't listen to the steeleye span version that I use to like anymore.

Yeah I don't think there will be anything exciting at all in the "edits" (hate to say I told you so) except the Valour remix, which will presumably be different and more electro.

Is it wrong that I'm more excited about finally having an official version of gaudete than about the actual new track? It's gonna be on repeat all Christmas. Totally makes up for the lack of other new stuff. VERY EXCITED! Such a shame that there's no physical copy...

I'm too childishly excited about the new track to be much worried by trivialities such as complete and utter impending doom.

I could easily envisage a disappointing mix of live versions and just plain tracks off of H&A. Really hoping not though.

Also, do we reckon there will be a physical release at some point? I'd understand if not but I really hope there is!

I know this is pedantic and also controversial but War Child is a charity I can get behind a lot more than the British Legion, so I'm really glad they've picked that one, it's a lovely idea (to clarify: I have nothing against the Legion, it just wouldn't be among my favourite charities. I'm a white poppy guy. However I do appreciate the nearness of the release date to remembrance day, so leaving the Legion out would admittedly seem callous.)
And "tempest" suggests that the new track continues the war themes of H&A, I wonder what the other 4 tracks on the EP are... (assuming tempest and valour are two of them.) I'd love a good remix or acoustic version.

oh god, with prr's record on technical failures, a boat sounds quite scary...

What makes you guys think it's going to be solo/singing stuff?

Any reason for thinking that?
