I know I'm a relative newcomer to this board, but I'd just like to say that I think I've been around long enough to realise that there's some real nutters who count themselves as fans of PRR.
That's all

Lust is another thing indeed, an interesting thing, lust: "Of course if you go back to the remote Darwinian past when we were, as I said, surrounded by close kin and by people who were likely to be able to reciprocate, that doesn't explain why we're still good to each other, even though we now live in big cities and are not surrounded by kin and are not surrounded by potential reciprocators. I think the answer there is probably that what natural selection builds into brains is rules of thumb which used to work at one time, in the same way we have heterosexual desire even though we are using contraception. As intelligent Darwinians we know perfectly well that the heterosexual lust that we feel is no longer fulfilling its Darwinian purpose, but we still feel it, and why on earth shouldn't we because it was built into our brains and it's still in our brains. Similarly, our remote ancestral past built into our brains the rule of thumb 'be nice to everyone you meet' and the reason was because everyone you met would be a cousin. Or 'be nice to everyone you meet' and the reason was that everyone might have been a potential reciprocator. Now it's no longer true, so we're in the same position as somebody who enjoys sex even though they're using contraception. We still feel a lust to be good, a lust to be nice, a lust to be altruistic, to be cooperative. I think that that Darwinian impulse filters through a conduit of modern cultural conventions and then of course refined by law, by parliamentary discussion, by journalism, by just ordinary conversation over the centuries which gives rise to the sort of civilised values that we have today, and which with hindsight you can if you wish graft onto certain verses of whatever your holy book happens to be." - Richard Dawkins But you have to remember the stuff Dawkins wrote about 'The Selfish Gene' for this to make utter sense. Dawkins is God and so say most people that know more than the basics about evolution!! So people Lust and Love are different, eh I know I'm a relative newcomer to this board, but I'd just like to say that I think I've been around long enough to realise that there's some real nutters who count themselves as fans of PRR. That's all Me like too ;D

Jon's sexy guitars I'm no nutcase by the way, just an appreciator of shmexy instruments... Mmm...saying it once and you can get away with calling yourself 'an appreciator,' twice and well, you're pushing it...third time- yeah, definate nutcase territory, if I was Jon I'd start double checking the doors are locked right about now...

To swanker, ryan, and ripley - as it feels as if this forum has suddenly gone quiet and turned to me, the nutter in the room - all I have to say is: "Indeed." Haha.

Possibly. I'd still rather the hollow Tele though. Or Jamies white SG, but I have one of them (just... a cheeper one). Jags don't really do it for me though. There has to be one, why not you eh
