more myspace news, some we sort of knew, some we didn't:
Missed these dates off the last bulletin - sorry!
The German TV network WDR will be recording our show on:
25.10.2008 Germany, Bonn, Harmonie. www. harmonie-bonn. de
This concert will be recorded for the Rockpalast Crossroads Series but will not be broadcast until Feb 2009....and talking of invitations there's another from Germany, this time from Eclipsed Magazine to play their one day indoor festival on:
22.11.2008 Germany, Aschaffenburg, Colos-Saal. www. colos-saal. de
FINALLY those eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that recently on www. insideout. de it was mentioned that, "Pure Reason Revolution are on tour with Porcupine Tree in Spain at the moment and will release a new album next spring " not quite the way we had planned to tell you but it's true! We could have rushed it out by the end of this year but we felt it deserved better, so Feb/March 2009 it is.
There will be more news about the single/album releases an huge live tour and if we get a moment to spare we'll scribble down all the 'fun and games' we've had on this tour.
PRRx.

Bummer the album won't be out until spring, but at least we know they're doing their best to make it perfect. That live broadcast should be very cool, though!
I'm interested to see what the "fun and games" entails.

Good spot, Ryan. Think it makes sense not to release the album until a couple of months into next year: unless they had released the album right about *now*, any release date until Christmas would doubtless have got buried amongst the rubbish that people buy each other for Christmas presents (X Factor stuff etc). Not saying that PRR's new album would be competing with all the stuff that is vying for #1 spots, but it certainly can't help at all. And then after Christmas many people have less cash available to spend on stuff like records, so a delay until next Spring will probably mean that PRR's album sells as many copies as it possibly can. For the first time in a long time, I'm in total agreement with their record company's decision here: wow! Interesting about their performance going to be shown on German television - s'pose we can expect quite a bit more of that (appearances and heavy promotion) in Germany, since insideout is based there. Hope they get an appropriate level of promotion and marketing spend in the UK to match, partly for selfish reasons since I'm over here, but mostly because I believe that it's really important that as a British band they maintain and grow their profile/fanbase in the UK to give them a solid platform for the rest of their career.

Oceansize did ok for promo over here, I wouldn't worry too much. InsideOut seem pretty on the ball.

I wish they could get some exposure here in the States. Fat chance of that, though.

The cynic in me suspects you're probably not wrong, but to be fair we don't yet know if PRR will have an American label for the new album (and what that label are like at supporting their acts if so), or if InsideOut will be responsible for any US release (and I have no idea, either positive or negative, about what they're like for trans-Atlantic releases if this is the case). We live in hope!

Well, Oceansize have been promising a US Frames release for ages now and I don't think it's happened. I assume InsideOut would handle it, they are just a sub-label of SPV who I'm fairly sure distribute over there.

Why is everyone talking about insideout? It's Superball now! Even if they are pretty much the same thing, Superball has a lot better acts on its roster, so lets stick with them.
But HOORAY! A release date that seems vaguely reliable has finally been set! That tiny niggle of "are they ever really going to release this thing" is officially gone! Well, pretty much gone....

Because that's what they mentioned!
But everything I put re: oceansize is about Superball. I was just being stupid.

So, if things go true to form................. The mini-album 'taster' of the 2nd album should be released around July, with the 2nd album being released early 2010, and there'll be a UK tour as soon as the credit crunch is over ....pieces of string come to mind here. Or am I being cynical?

Think things will be different (and better) for PRR now that they've found a new label who are committed to supporting them, swanker, and they also have a settled lineup now too. That kinda stuff should all be in the past now, touch wood.
