Ha, how did I know your solution would be to drop VIW...actually, I wouldn't miss it all that much if it was to part ways with the set for a while...as long as they keep Willows. Willows better not be going anywhere...

They could always play it live without the violin...
Panic Room have some violin on their debut album but had mostly played live gigs without it, and when I saw them in Swansea with the violinist from the album it was a different sound, but not better or worse, just different. I was glad I had experienced it, but not having it there even at the gig the next night did not detract from the songs in any way - if anything it served to emphasise just how much the guitarist does live.

Sorry to interrupt, but I have a bit different question: TDF said that Ambassadors " seems so out of place with all those other massive awesome rocking tunes in the set." Why? I don't know if I understand correctly, but it seems to be simply to quiet for you, right? AVO is not so massive either. I think that every show needs some "calmer" moments. The constant bombardment of heavy sounds would be tiring. A little variety is always a good thing.

I can't be bothered to quote, but TDF & BA- I'm not flying the flag for Ambassadors. I could give or take the song in the set list entirely, and I've only heard it twice live. It just that I feel it contains many of the factors which makes PRR... well... PRR. I agree that it lacks energy in live shows. I was only offering a reason as to why they keep it in their sets.
Additionally, you take away the violin in VIW and I think you pretty much kill the song. But that's just my opinion...

I'll cry if they drop Willows as it's definitely on my favourite songs of all time list. I would like to see a little more variety in the sets though, but I guess on a tour like this you want to be relatively consistent. Hope they mix it up in the coming three dates

Well, it'll be interesting to see what gets the cut to make it a support slot length set...

Willows is the track they should drop last off TDT. I think it is a much better poster for TDT than ambassadors. While TBAOM might be a better song, Willows is more emblematic of the band's sound in that era.
So, just to get this straight for a late person to the party like me, have they ever played: Goshens, Bullitts, HTTSTM!, Sound Of Free, The Exact Colour or Asleep Under The Eiderdown? Quite a list but just fairly interested to know....

They've played...HTTSTM! in the electric set and Exact Colour/Eiderdown acoustically. I don't think I've heard them play the other three...

I don't think I've heard them play the other three... LOL. This may actually be the most authoritative source we're going to get! ;D

Eiderdown eh? I've never heard of that being played, though I had assumed it must've been seeing as it's so old. Cool.
