BWWWAH! I love it all, I'm pathetic like that. So surprising but sounds awesome!

Only just got in and discovered that Jamie has been a very busy boy indeed (wrong time to have a dead iPhone, which means no mobile Facebook/Twitter!). My verdict:
I like it all. Including the 1st sample. Bit surprised people aren't so keen on it, really - to me, it's no first-listen Les Malheurs (but then, what is?) but it's miles better than my first impressions (and, dare I say, lasting impressions) of Disconnect or the non-AVO version of Victorious Cupid. Will need to give the whole thing more listens, but I'm looking forward to seeing it live.

Got to say, verdict from the mother is that she too likes the first one. So it's not a universal thumbs down!
But still...THAT LAST ONE! Serious butterflies, I get more excited every time I hear it! Please let them rehearse that one up for Hoxton!

That's the great thing with PRR, there's very little room for "ohh, that was nice" it's either WTF or WOW. The first track was both! Seriously, it's like oh God, this is all sounding very industrial and errr, ohh what was that, and hmm, and oh shit I can see this being all sorts of WOW. The rest of it sounded like a more beefed up AVO with the final 30 seconds being pure win. Parts of it actually sounded like somebody gave The Dark Third a digital make over. As ever it's always difficult to judge these things out of context, and I'm hoping this rocking electronic sound they've got going is introduced to some raw guitar and drums at some point, but from the sampler, all signs point to something very special. .. Okay, how many times is considered unhealthy to listen to that sampler. ... more than 20?!?!?!!

No, I'm probably on more than 20...but then, I do have an essay due tomorrow that I REALLY don't want to do, so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
BTW, Jamie just confirmed it's 3 tracks, not 4. :-)

I'm glad some others like the first one, I think it sounds exciting. Really didn't recognise the voice at all - it's Chloe singing there right? I've only listened once and I don't plan on listening again. I learned my lesson with the AVO run-up.

Btw, can we also take a moment to recognise the very comforting fact that label worries are totally over? Cool.

I've only listened once but it's totally chole.
We knew there was no problem with the label, the new news is just that the contract has been extended to include the US.

I've only listened once but it's totally chole. Is that a good adjective or a bad one? (It seems I'm rattling towards 30 and not being down with the kids at an alarming rate. And "down with the kids" is probably very 1999 as well... )

as in it's totally her singing.

On the subject of Fight Fire...I have a feeling it might 'kick-in.' As I've listened to it more, I get a sense it's building towards something, in which case, I certainly wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it, it could be awesome.
(Having said that, if that is the case...probably not the clip I would have chosen for the sampler!)

Sooo, #1 is my winner. Absolutely addictive even though I didn't like it at first (but the same was true for AVO). More of that, please! #2 sounds very promising, especially towards the end. Some of the vocal melodies in #3 remind me a little too much of The Intention Craft; but maybe that's intentional ;D

I agree! I thought the first 2(3?!) samples were terrible! the 'fight fire with fire' one was particularly bad. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. It all sounded a little off to me. I think the 2nd/3rd could be growers but I'm not sold on the first one at all. Instrumentally I'm all over it. I'm just not loving the vocals. I'm hoping it's bad sample choice.
