To move the conversation on, what's everyone's favourite specific H&A moments? And you're not allowed to say "cruel is the sound" from Bllitzkrieg - it's too obvious. Mine are: 1. The second verse in Fight Fire, where the guitars leave off for a bit revealing some cool electro bleepiness behind the vocals. 2. "That's what I'm feeling" breakdown in Black Mourning - also obvious but had to be said. 3. The first 45 seconds of LMLR - sounds like the Battle of the Somme turned into music 4. The drop at the end of the quiet chorus three quarters of the way through Valour - so powerful! 5. All of Blitzkrieg and Open Insurrection (now I'm just cheating, sorry!) I'll add more as I think of them. as for me: 1. Paul's way of drumming in the first part of Fight fire 00 till 1:50 2. Entrance to the 1st chorus in LMLR 3. Vocal harmonies at the end of Never Divide 4. "Deliverance, this is deliverance..." 5 Cheating as well: brain washing entrance to Blitzkrieg! The sound there smash me to the ground each time I hear it! each time I listen to the album I'm falling in love with some new sounds so soon new ones will appear

I really like those 4 quick drumbeats by Paul at 2.50 in Black Mourning before the "Rest when I'm feeling tired"...

There's certainly plenty of bass, I don't know if it's a big hollow one or a small guitar-sized one. How do you tell when it's so distorted?

More double bass pls. sometimes I think there are some many bass lines though afterwards in the gig I find it that it's the way guitar sounds. on the other hand lots of bass lines in PRR comes from keys. difficult to decide what we actually can hear on the record

But there's a lot more interesting things going on in the low section on H&A than on the previous two albums. This is already very pleasing with headphones, but I can't wait until my 100-pounder at home kicks in ;D

Oh, I meant double bass drumming. I thought about that mix up after I'd posted, opps.
The synth bass is a cool sound though, they've nailed that one on the last couple of albums.

Hard to tell. But there's a lot more interesting things going on in the low section on H&A than on the previous two albums. I disagree - the bass lines in the dark third are so beautiful. That's definitely my favourite album for bass, but AVO and H&A certainly aren't shabby!

Yeah, I didn't mean the bass lines exclusively, I meant all the wobbly stuff of which there's much more on the new album.

Is there a bit of a double bass blast in the first bit of Fight Fire? Yes! There is indeed. Exactly ONCE! So... 31. Fight Fire @ 0:14 - Double bass I'm not a fan of double bass attacks that stretch over tens of seconds, but I agree that a little more here and there couldn't hurt.
